Yeah….violating state law because of dispute with federal law isn’t a great strategy.

Let the state and feds finish yelling at each other and figuring it out, first.

This is true. It is very very true.

Ah! There it is.

More religious appropriation by the Republican Party.

“Faith-based”. They mean white evangelical based.

Highly doubt any of these grants would ever be approved to an Islamic housing program . 🙄

That’s accurate in terms of data.

The actual primary base skews towards Mills.

My job is to get out younger moderates and independents.

When I was down in Portland last Friday, it was interesting to see how people under 30 weren’t interested in either of them.

I read the bill. I just disagree with the metric.

CEOs create value relative to the scale of a company. That's the problem because as the world becomes more efficient, we don't need 5 CEOs, they merge into 1, but then that 1 CEO suddenly has 5x the responsibility and 5x the compensation.

With Ranked Choice Voting, I certainly would appreciate being your number two!

That said, I have no issues with Platner personally. Seems like a really decent guy from the few conversations, I just don't get the following in comparison for what's needed this election.

Oh, interesting.

I've already started using it with Platner cultists who can't seem to separate how bizarre it is to think someone with no political experience could be a successful US Senator let alone beat Susan Collins, and also some how overcome some glaring maturity issues.

Regardless of whatever the story on tattoo is, he definitely lacks the maturity.

Beyond that he’s never done anything with legislation

Oh that does sound exciting!

I don’t drink because of the medications I’m on for PTSD and frankly I’m a little surprised that Platner is.

There’s so much nuance to this. Biden’s Executive Order 13998 attempted to unilaterally override Title IX through an EO by interpreting Bostock v Clayton’s arguments regarding Title VII employment rights as being extendable to Title IX.

I’m in favor a robust, science based approach that revises Title IX to empower individual states to determine what makes sense for them.

Overall the federal government simply cannot imagine every single situation and exception that may be appropriate for a ban or blanket acceptance.

But Title IX has always carried exceptions for discrimination on the basis of biological sex, sports, locker rooms, sororities/fraternities, etc.

Further, as it relates the Maine Human Rights Act on federal over-reach, the enforcement mechanism is the acceptance of federal funding.

It's really jarring how similar it's been talking to MAGA voters as it has been talking to Platner apologists.
