Honestly think this is the worst NFL idea anybody has had since the Jeff Saturday head coaching stint
The Colts will start QB Philip Rivers on Sunday against the Seahawks, sources tell The Insiders.

Age 44, out of retirement, after a full week of practice, Rivers is a go.

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

this year alone, we're wondering if the Committee:

—was trying to protect the value of championship games
—was trying to avoid shutting out the ACC
—reverse-engineered the rankings to make the h2h between Miami and Notre Dame matchup relevant

We shouldn't have to think about any of this!

a day later, I keep thinking about this: the CFP desperately needs to move to a combination of computer rankings/large human polls.

We might get a "wrong" pick sometimes but we already get those, except now we question the committee's motivaitons/logic/politics every year. And that's a bad look
The College Football Playoff committee got it wrong again.

Here's the now-annual breakdown of how the committee's inconsistent logic leaves everybody once again wondering if they had ulterior motives for the choices they made.
The College Football Playoff Committee got it wrong again
The Playoff Committee's decision making was so bad that I now have to defend Notre Dame. PLUS: Duke pulled off the funniest conference championship, we had the UPSET OF THE YEAR, and more!

lmao they put the World Cup in America and now it's got commercial breaks.
News: Every 2026 World Cup match will feature two "hydration breaks," no matter the weather.

Each half will pause for exactly three minutes midway through.

It's a player welfare measure. It also has sporting & commercial implications.

Every game will pause for three minutes in the middle of each half, which will essentially split the match into quarters.

I keep coming back to this:

Notre Dame's two losses were by a combined four points. Their most recent loss was on September 14th.

Alabama lost by 21 yesterday.

I don't think it's great for faith in the sport's governance that two teams in the 12-year history of the Playoff have made the field when they really shouldn't have, and both of those teams were Alabama

The weekly rankings releases really are such a sham. I don't have that strong a take on Miami over Notre Dame but letting Bama get off scot-free for that disgrace yesterday is bordering on unbelievable

They didn't want the SEC and Alabama to be mad and take their ball and go home, and they didn't want to have the embarrassment of the ACC getting left out because of their SEC propaganda with the Alabama inclusion. That's literally all it is.
