Some families in America are on track to pay over $22,000 more per YEAR for their health insurance.

Where are their Republican senators?
Three panels of Senator Elizabeth Warren saying:

Thanks to Republicans in Congress, a 60-year-old couple making $85k/year will have to pay over $22,000 more EVERY YEAR to keep their coverage.

TWENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS.

For families already hanging on by their fingernails, that could be a matter of life and death.
Unless they understand both the heavy weight & history of Black hair, how would they know?

Also pretty depressing to realize that none of those armchair critics have Black friends. If they did & had real conversations with those friends they wouldn’t be so ignorant.

Again, thanks for the post.
Thank you for writing this. I remembered that interchange with storm & the Thing, and appreciated Mr. McDuffie’s natural conversational flow.

The art shown above is beautiful. To me - person of pallor with crazy coarse hair - white ppl chiming in about Storm’s gorgeous, natural hair is so dumb..!
I get so tired of saying/thinking “just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse “..
And every night another snowflake plan to try to act against those heartbreaks.

It feels pointless, but, doing nothing would feel worse, if not now, then later.

Stay safe, Penguino.
I’m not from here, moved here from New York. But I live here now, and I vote, yell, write, etc. Thanks again; at least in this one small instance, I have somewhere to direct my ire.
“Why do you keep hitting yourself!?”
*sigh* I appreciate reading that! Again, my 🧠 knows, & tomorrow I’ll sort the containers, call my senators, make those protest signs.

Tonight I read about a child kidnapped by ICE from MA & they’re at a juvenile facility an hour from me (VA). 💔 WT actual Gestapo F.

I hope you’re doing OK! 🐧💜
Thanks for this info. Winchester is about an hour & change from me & abstractly, I know people go *somewhere*.

Angry phone calls/Emails/yelling at lawmakers coming.
I’m in the exact same position. Those dishes can wait until after a good night sleep. An online friend I made has reminded me to stay hydrated and get good sleep. So, just like her, I am reminding you.
Like “hi neighbors can I have your clean, used takeout containers, jars & bags to help feed local unhoused families “ & “LMK if you need a ride to go vote” are *nice* but it’s not punching Nazis, you know?
I haven’t been posting here much because I’m overwhelmed. I make myself be informed, trying to get work done at the same time & am stepping up my small local charity volunteering. But it feels like a snowflake flinging itself into the mouth of Smaug.

Sometimes we need a moment, but if you tune out completely, they win. Fascism doesn’t need your support, just your silence.
Yeah. I am a half-German American and I’m boggled we live in times where “Nazis are bad” is a statement that has to be explained or defended.
I can’t believe I have to say this, but historically, masked men who kidnap families in the middle of the night are usually not the good guys.
Oh nooooo, now I’m hungry for sponge bread & spicy yumminess. Looks delicious..! 😋

We haven’t had a shutdown since the last time Trump was president—which was also the longest shutdown in U.S. history. Once again, Trump can’t lead, and the American people suffer as a result.

Trump would rather burn down the country than release the Epstein Files.

Over 80% of voters want it released.

Release the Epstein Files.
I’m grateful to have your play-by-play updates from the floor. I hope you have an excellent NYCC!
I made a double batch of huge oatmeal muffins w/ sour cherries & orange drizzle, picked up a big bag of locally roasted coffee & dropped them off at my local firehouse.

That nice gent is the nurse who was there administering flu shots to the firefighters.
Have an excellent trip! Looking forward to all the updates.
As a tired and perpetually politically outraged, middle-aged person, the idea of normal “precedented” times is freaking lovely. But I’m sure we’re trying to get other demographics here. What are we doing to engage previously non-voting people, and young people? What should they be excited about?
I feel mixed, about your message here. On the one hand, unprecedented times are kind of exhausting and we’ve been going through it for years. On the other hand, even though boring just means predictable and reliable – and those are good things – what the take might be is, unexciting.
