And giving to Mutual Aid. A lot of people are drowning, & most just tell us they “called the Coast Guard to help” & then look away, rather than tossing whatever they have on hand we can cling to, no matter how small, to keep our heads above the waves…

Direct aid (not just nonprofits) saves lives.

Imagine if they spent that money directly helping #ActuallyAutistic people. So many of us are homeless (like me) or constantly on the edge of homelessness… it’s abhorrent.

Autism $peaks raised ~$34m in 2024 and spent 1% on family services and grants to help Autistic individuals. They spend approximately 25% of their budget on lobbying and another 25% on research (primarily on genetic testing and causation, i.e. eugenics). They aren’t trying to make our lives better.

Autism $peaks is the largest and most popular Autism organization (among allistics), who continues to be 100% in support of ABA. They have lobbyists who push ABA as the “gold standard Autism treatment.” It utilizes same practices as “conversion therapy,” which is currently banned in 28 countries.

ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is the “gold standard” of “treatment” for Autism, and was created by the person as “Conversion therapy” (see Lovaas) with similar techniques and goals. It’s torture that continues to have widespread support and acceptance.

Oh THAT guy?! He’d literally post massive Obama crowd pics passed off as Hillary rallies to counter the Bernie blowouts &when I called him out (there were even Hope crowd
signs😹) he blocked me but kept them up

Until liberals do some real soul-searching & actively work on being ANTI-racist (not just thinking “I’m not racist” …while pushing back on ppl calling out racism(❗️)) they’re aiding the Rs.

PSA: “genuine racists” are aided in their aims by “well-meaning ppl” continuing to use racist imagery/tropes bc they “don’t see any harm in it & I’M not racist!”

Racists & fascists couldn’t exist w/o “well-meaning” ppl excusing “harmless” rhetoric & “traditional” attitudes / words ROOTED IN RACISM.

I counter with: ppl “trying to be on your side” by posting racist caricatures of you aren’t actually on your side.

(If an “ally’s” DISCOMFORT at being called out takes precedence over the LIVED HARM you experience daily, they’re not trying to help, they’re trying to center themselves in the convo)

Native Americans have been caricatured this way for centuries: directly leading to dehumanization & harm. Posting this isn’t “support” in any way. It further “others” the ppl he supposedly supports (he can’t post art from an actual Indigenous person?!) Digging in proves the “support” is performative

It’s not a “probably” at this point - studies have been done worldwide (& in the US)… housing people & giving them UBI is cheaper AND *gasp* solves the issue.

Americans just don’t want to see Black & brown people given things “for free. They literally prefer to turn their country into a hellscape.

(and I’m so glad you said this, bc I cannot STAND the art style of One Piece (I find the mouths and facial expressions grotesque) but some hard-core One Piece fans in my life think I’m exaggerating when I say it’s physically painful for me to look at).

Yeah, we don’t get any holiday “bonuses” in the US, but our $2000 assets limit was introduced in 1989 and would be over $10,000 today if it had kept up with inflation 😑

The reality is we are forced to live in legislated poverty.

Barred from earning or marrying without losing our meagre benefits.

Denied autonomy.

Yeah, I became severely disabled w/ chronic illness at 37 & I joked I was “37 going on 87”…

10.5 yrs later I’m now homeless & I’d very seriously want off this ride if it wasn’t for my cat who has been w/in 10 feet of me 99% of her entire 10 years of life. Everyone else will be fine. Sad, but fine.
