How can it be anything else? My old mum died of pancreatic in 1991. Her doctors called it a 'rare' cancer. Now suddenly, not rare at all.
Ok, I just splurted a mouthful of coffee across my keyboard... please refrain from posting any colossal news for the next few minutes... thanks.
Get a neck tattoo -- maybe a nice black widow. Guaranteed no stranger will ever dare to talk to you that way again. Heh.

Seriously... Hallowe'en stick-ons... take your pick.
"Innocent victims"... join the bloody club! My specialty furnace filter peeps have stopped shipping to Canada, FFS. We are all neck deep in politics!
Jeez, is he even dressed in that piccie? Asking for a friend...
Yet Covid doesn't get a mention until very near the end of the article, the it's by-the-way. No mention of it causing blood clots & atherosclerosis in, say, elite athletes -- and incr risk of early death ~age 35 academic.oup.com/eurheartj/ar...
Wow! 2011! If the world can be saved, it'll likely be engineers who save it. Back in the late 1950s, my dad (mechanical) pointed to thick black smoke pouring from a smokestack, "Not necessary", he said.. Then explained 'scrubbers' to a 7yo. They weren't required pollution control hardware until 1977
Says here it's common to locate these data centres in drought-sticken areas. "The average 100-megawatt data center consumes about 2 million liters of water a day, equivalent to the water consumption of 6,500 American households."

Can anyone make that make sense?!

Another vote for Trawna. Those cold-ass football games shouting ourselves hoarse: "Trawnaw! Trawnaw! Trawnaw Varsity! Shout 'n Fight for Blue & White..." Good times! I've taught that to barflies in the hotels I've visited in Scotland. They always roared... then bought me a wee dram, heh.
I've recently heard the trending teens pronouce it Torondo. But that might be the organic foods... I hear that at the farmers' market.
Aren't stem cells super-sensitive? Does management think contamination won't be a problem? Here are paleontologists geared up, searching for ancient DNA at a dig site. Clearly THEY worry about contamination.
Three researchers at an acient dig site, completely covered by hazmat suits, gloves, booties, hoods and masks.
This side of the pond, we've had politicians use the word 'gone'. I even heard a doctor in the ER use it recently -- he was maskless, of course, though he had a baggy blue surgical on his wrist. Covid has been purged from the language here -- taboo.
Fair enough. Release your AI coding into the public domain and we'll call it even.
Hah! No splurting! I see your name roll up and set down my mug! That kid will go far!
My mate is at an academic conference today, in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Says 350 are registered, just 1 in an N95 -- guess who. Several attendees are coughing , not even covering their mouths <smh>
FWIW, Finland has been progressive in many ways for many years. They even eliminated homelessness. But a recent election voted in a change in govt -- guess what? All progressive policies & programs got cancelled and homelessness is again on the rise. This shift to the political right is everywhere.
