Interesting- in the face of so much criticism of AI. Are you prepping a 'how-to optimize AI' article -- I hope so! I'm a civilian who doublechecks my own patient records after every brush with the healthcare system -- far more errors lately! AI? overwork? both? pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
Beyond human ears: navigating the uncharted risks of AI scribes in clinical practice
Artificial intelligence (AI) scribes have been rapidly adopted across health systems, driven by their promise to ease the documentation burden and reduce clinician burnout. While early evidence shows efficiency gains, this commentary cautions that ...

Me, I'm still loath to buy booze from the USA, but I'd be tempted IF the recipient charities were ones that feed, clothe and house fugitives from ICE. That could make news and get back to their media -- another thumb-in-the-eye from Canada.

What gets me is that special interest groups try to do the right thing by organising webinars on ventilation, but they get the wrong panelists. I belong to one that held three webinars this year with a doctor, a bureaucrat, an architect, but NEVER an engineer!

Corporate version of "a fool and their money..."??

Exactly! I confess that I am opinionated -- and free with them, duly factchecked and footnoted. Sadly, no one will listen that extra second or two anymore, so when a naysayer inevitably demands how do I know that... water is wet, or whatever... my stock reply is "I read." True, if a tad snarky.

Here in my neighbourhood last summer, there was "an active shooter" -- which turned out to be a lie. The only ones shooting were the cops -- on a crowded city street, mid-day, mid-week. A block away an officer on foot tried to block from me entering my own home -- where I'd be safe from cowboy cops

Now it seems we cannot trust any scientific evidence from any source, however reputable, until we have verified all their citations. Discouraging... I'm going to bed with a book and a bag of ginger snaps.

Pest control chappie came inside our unit today. Scheduled yesterday w warning that he won't be let inside without a mask. We can provide one if need be. Today, a very pleasant Caribbean ex-pat came, asked for a mask and apologised for not having one. Visit lasted ~10 mins; his nasty cologne ~2 hrs

FWIW, I use an ordinary tablet, log into the library system here in Toronto, and borrow ebooks using one of their own apps -- most often, Libby.

What does this mean? bring back 'the castrati'? Alessandro Moreschi (1858-1922) was the last according to Wiki. Maybe age 63 was a ripe old age, in The Roaring Twenties?

Think the 1950s: they want "ladies" instead of "women", Better still, "girls" -- even if the discussion involves seniors.

Says Nas Daily vlogger [middle guy] today: "These guys eat 9,000 calories every day. They eat all the time, and they don’t get fat. They only get bigger. This is Mongolia, the country with the highest testosterone levels in the world... The average level here is 693. For comparison, mine is 500."

And I earnestly hope they don't get screwed, if they do come, the way our own have been screwed -- by red tape, slashed budgets, spite and betrayal. The Avro Arrow in 1959 and the Novavax sellout in 2022. So much for Cdn 'self-reliance'. Few doses available cross country; none here in Onterrible.
