Sunday night cooking Bluesky seems to be leaning hard into tomato sauce tonight: our features roasted cherry tomatoes I grew and canned this summer and has sliced spicy italian sausage and will be served with bucatini.

This weekend I've done a ton of seams and a ton of end weaving. And realizing that the 2D to 3D translation was in fact flawed but...perhaps I need only make an addition two granny squares for the body panels under the sleeves for when it all comes together?

Lol, spouse had to hand me his laptop because I'm the one with the fancy you spend too much money at Lowes account and all I could do was swear about how keys on his keyboard are not where they should be because it's so damn big.

Things that make my hair standup on <other site> : that the youths keep saying coreSET and not corsit for the word corset.

In my attempt to purposely use ~lady products~ this month I used some rose handcream on my feet tonight. The desire to shriek revealed one of my heels is still hella cracked 💀 I hate winter.

Am I maybe partially glad to see <redacted> maybe has some generators to make up for things going offline? Yes. Have I also encountered hella important office of major agencies in <redacted town> who think an API and JSON file are interchangable whilst also hosting an invalid json on their site? Yes

Today's getting out of the house has many tasks: dropping off baked goods at the community fridge, powerball tickets, now Greek diner for noms (gyro and fries for me, falafel for M), then Tractor Supply for dog probiotics.

Oh yay, a coffee. Also my Christmas present is now hung outside (I oddly enough did not want to put it out in yesterday's 60mph gusts).

Y'all the spouse says I sound like Cruella DeVille for telling Freya she needs to make puppy friends and bring them home so I can huff puppy breath.

(Y'all...puppy breath. They need to bottle that smell. I miss when Boo who is a neighborhood doggy was a puppy and gave me sweet sweet puppy kisses)

Okay Emily in Paris...if she's from Chicago and in her current early 20s, there's no freaking way she ordered a West Coast made PBR over a Leinies when finding an American bar in Paris. At that point shr might as well have been drinking _the banquet beer of Golden Colorado_

We got a Christmas card from the plumbers this year. It may be a sign we spent too much money on plumbing (even though we did the garbage disposal swap).

Y'alll Christmas falls on spouse's cooking day so he's threatening Britush Christmas dinner. The challenge: he's never cooked it and I just had to explain how to do British Sunday roast potatoes 😱 (he also thinks maybe not a whole turkey or turkey breast, but legs instead)

Well...putting together a sweater from granny squares has me: cursing need to weave ends b/c there will be so many and not accounting for amount of shoulder drop in the flat 2D pattern I halfassed (I think I made too many sleeve squares....meaning I can make sweater longer but I need more squares).

Tonight lessons in food stuffs: the baklava nut mix is in fact made better by adding ground cardamon in with the cinnamon.
December 18, 2025 at 1:42 AM
Alright y'all...it's time for roast chicken leftovers to become the first crepes I've made since high school French class (and a slightly scary electric crepe pan) in the form of a chicken with caramelized onion boursin creme sauce crepe with a chive garnish and the dessert is baklava cups.

Oh. So we've decided to go all Monroe Doctrine, the Western Hemisphere belongs to us again. Fuck.

This month I've been trying to use all the lady supplies I have stashed. This is hard when you're a shampoo-conditioner-soap-toothpaste girl. But today I: used microabrasion scrub, moisturizer with sunscreen, shea butter handcream (on my heels), lip scrub, night moisturizer, rose handcream + 1 more.
December 17, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Y'all...I pulled a whole package of phyllo out of the fridge the other day. I'm destined to make at least 2 dozen baklava cups in muffin pans aren't I?

*heavy sighs* am I gonna have to run Docker on my fucking phone to pin to a hella old no AI version of Firefox?

(Yes, this night grump brought to you in software dev who has had to build testing environments for multiple Firefox versions because...work clients)

The bread I baked today was essential to dinner: sandwiches using leftover lamb loin, arugula, roasted red pepper, red oniin, melted cheese and some toum. Also fries.
December 17, 2025 at 12:22 AM
Whooo, last ten granny squares of my first attempt at making a the sweater pattern finished! There _may_ be another 6 in my future though if the 2D to 3D translation doesn't quite work 😬
December 16, 2025 at 11:23 PM
Yay, we have had a shed delivered. Booo we have to assemble it at some point 😬
December 16, 2025 at 6:06 PM
I only started this bread dough an hour and a half ago!

The dog went outside this morning for walkies and immediately said eff this I'm going back inside 🤣

Windchills today: in the single goddman digits this morning.

Weather end of week: near 60 for highs such that spouse and I are arguing about which days are our personal laundry day dibs for drying things outdoors 🤣
