Trade deadline approaching & not sure what greatest need is, wonder what the % chance of getting Iffy in a trade with MIA...though he's often M.I.A. when needed on the field. 1 more Q. A lot of players going on IR, I think only 8 can return. How many IR for Return(IRR) spots are left for DET to use? Think Reed, Davenport, Manu, Thomas, Zylstra, & Dorsey puts us at 6. How does it work, that team can bring max 8 back but unlimited # can go on IRR up to 90 roster limit?

Teams like the Lions like to say there are multiple, adapt game plans to be opponent specific, but you also have some bread & butter plays you do for "got to have it" downs. What % of a game plan are old reliable plays they do well (Duo with D-Mo) vs plays just for that opponent? More on DEF or OFF?

Love that Dan Campbell doesn't water stuff down in "coach speak" and just explains things clearly and is a straight shooter. Sure he is the same with his players and staff. I especially like it when he is talking about a player and says "we need more from him", motivating without criticizing.

Update, I think Jamarco Jones may be on designated to return from IR list as well, which would mean have used 5 of 8 spots. Got this information by looking at a link at Sharp Football analysis on rosters, link below. Can you check if that is true?

With all the injuries, how many of the 8 designated to return from IR has DET used so far? Worried will run out of them before end of season. Think Davenport, DJ Reed, Daniel Thomas & Zylstra are 4, did I miss any? Do you burn 1 of 8 when they return or when you put them on the list? Tricky stuff.

Really like your in depth snap count analysis...which makes me wonder why Wingo has been a healthy scratch since Bears game, where he lead in DT snaps. Is he hurt, not a scheme fit for that game plan, in the dog house? With AG having challenges w/NYJ, trade him to open up roster space for Alim?

Good to hear and REALLY appreciate how Decker has taken him under his wing. Feel Taylor knows he can't play forever and is paying it forward by trying to help develop Manu. Hoping Manu can hold the fort until Decker is good enough to play again this season, weather the storm until then.

Honestly, both Chase and Sewell just amazing and on track for HOF careers, just enjoying both their talents on the field. Also, thank god ATL took Pitts and MIA took Waddle so DET could grab Sewell!

Do you think he can develop & get better? Has amazing size & measurables but wonder if he can mentally adjust, i.e. so many guys been playing football all their life, newer for him. Definitely looks like he's thinking to much, more worried about making a mistake then cutting loose.

I really like the fact that Dan Campbell tailors his aggressiveness based on the opponent. Punting to teams with a weaker offense when you D is playing well makes sense against CIN, but agree will be more aggressive vs KC & TB where he wants to keep the ball and steal possessions.

Sorry, just read the details in your article, different issue with surgically repaired shoulder, i.e. new issue on same shoulder but surgery fixed the other issue. Hoping for a speedy recovery and that DET can hold down the fort until he gets back...

Is it Taylor's shoulder that he had surgery on or did an issue crop up on his other shoulder? That I heard something about it being his other shoulder, not the surgically repaired one....but you know...internet. Just wanted to understand where the problem is if you have the time. Thanks!

What is up with Wingo being a healthy scratch all but one game this season? Lead DET in DT snaps vs CHI and never to be seen again, guess numbers game but thought he had some juice on inside pass rush plays.

So many missed tackles by Jets D, don't see all 11 on O run blocking to help break longer runs. Just kind of sad, AG has to be seething, both inside and out...

Very true, and the following year with JAX picking Travon Walker instead of Hutch was fortunate. Karama payback for picking Ebron in 2014 over Aaron Donald, OBJ and Zack Martin, heck, even Taylor Lewan would have all been better picks then Ebron. Need some luck but helps when Brad Holmes is picking!
