Maybe cliche answer but John Carpenter's The Thing. Another that scared me was Jacob's Ladder.

They are more scary to me for the psychological tension, though The Thing is still also a marvel of practical effects.

Sorry for being blunt, but that's how it is in social media websites. Sometimes, you can pour all your effort and heart into a piece and won't get much traction, but a random sketch gets all the attention.

And well, sometimes people gravitate more for who they like be characters or vtubers.
