When are people in the educational field going to understand that these kids had to live through a pandemic where those with power said "fuck those kids and their families." Many of those kids lost loved ones. Many of those kids picked up extra hours &/or jobs to help their family buy groceries.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

As a corollary to this: there are a lot of artists who will black-list you from BUYING art if you have AI slop in your profile. Seeing AI is an instant, immediate red flag for most artists because it's a signal that you do not respect artists (yes, that includes using it "until I can get real art").

Art directors, Art enjoyers, Art buyers and Artists talk with each other. Nobody wants AI slop, specially when there is real art out there as an alternative. You can totally get blacklisted, not only on the industry, but inside fandoms for defending AI precarization and theft.
