The number of big games just getting away with not disclosing shit is disheartening

Steam once again indicating that they will happily ignore any of their own rules if a game makes them enough money

The two things I will immediately blacklist any game, or dev studio for are 1) predatory monetisation practices, and 2) using gen"ai" for anything at all

Both are abuse of the player base and those who actually make games
Amazing how often the two go together these days, huh?

I refuse to support any game that has been made in any part using generative slop & it would make my time digging through the nearly 3,000 demos on show right now if I didn't have to check every single one to make sure it wasn't using that crap

Punishing job applicants for something fully outside their control, like the decision of a company to hire them or not out of thousands of qualified applicants, is exactly the same as punishing someone for eg: how many people walked past their house today. It makes you a fucking inhumane monster.

Another game I've been absolutely hyped to try has been Relooted, a heist/parkour game all about recovering stolen cultural artifacts to return them from where they came from

Believe old game devs when we tell you: burnout is real, it's painful. Be honest with yourself, take the breaks when you need them.
I've been burnt out for so long, I only just realized how long. I went from crunch at Iridium into crunch at Giant Squid with no break. About 3 years. It was too long.

I get what you mean
I love horses, we used to look after a few on a paddock where I used to live, they are such beautiful animals
But games either took them way too "make it pink" or treated the horses as disposable commodities

I've never been a horse-enby, but The Legend of Khiimori might turn me into one

There's so much going on here, and I love the attention to detail in making the horse the center of attention when it comes to keeping them happy & healthy

Gonna need a PC upgrade before the full game though, lol

Okay, Shadows of the Afterland feels very much more my kind of adventure game vibe

A really fun take on the notion of the afterlife, and the bureaucracy involved (I'm a big Dead Like Me fan so I love this stuff). Classic point & click design & compelling story from what I've seen

Simon The Sorcerer Origins feels like it's going to be a good one for adventure game fans. It feels like a good continuation of the series I loved 30 years ago
