ICE just detained two SUNY Upstate hospital cleaning staff on their way to court to finalize their legal status.

These unsung heroes help keep patients safe from infections.

Please tell me how this is making Americans heathy?

Thank you for acknowledging me, the real hero.
Huge thank you to the comedians, musicians, artists and writers who are just as mad and bewildered as the rest of us but are still doing their best to make life worth living for everyone.
Is it not possible to sue these corporations??

An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

These dogs were spotted taking a group photo in their Halloween costumes. We're impressed by the dog walker's dedication to getting the shot, but that ghost definitely wishes he could actually disappear. 14/10 for all (TT: franklinbarkzoo)

The Walton family surely does
“some people abuse SNAP” your soul is rotten
In the 4 (of 7, or my steering doesn’t work 😂) minutes I’ve bee warming up my car, the cops have met each other and dispersed, so it was likely a typical overreaction on their part but, uh, that’s exactly what I was scared of [catching a stray bullet because they can’t actually handle high pressure]
New nightmare unlocked: I just walked out of my building and headed for my car, only to see a cop (attempting) running by on the sidewalk ahead of me. Then saw two more cop cars with lights flashing a block away, and “the runner” went into the wooded area behind the apartment buildings
And we’re told not to worry. Meanwhile… when has anything EVER gone back down in price once “they” see that we will pay such-and-such amount for it. Funny how the prices are simply continuing to climb

And sparked inflation with fake supply issues and made obscene profits. That model is fully entrenched today with even more blatant profiteering....

Remember how just a few years ago during the worst of the pandemic when we saw how the govt can actually do big things and saw that our collective health & well-being are intertwined, and then corporations got mad that they lost a modicum of power and helped fund a backlash of amnesia and fascism?

I regret to inform everyone that my pedantic brain couldn’t let me live until I knew whether or not dodger blue and blue jays blue are the same blue. They are ONE PANTONE NUMBER APART.
It also seems like QUITE a stretch [for the claim of confusion about this] to me, since I had non-familial aunts and uncles growing up, and am referred to as “auntie Ember” by one [white] woman to her toddler

I never have 'seen' people steal food... Nor will I ever...

I wear glasses, and I don't see so well, anyway. But even if I did see well, I am never going to see anyone stealing food. Working class people stealing food is something that has never happened in history, and will never happen.

The U.S. is experiencing its highest wave of layoffs since 2020, with close to a million workers losing their jobs this year.

hi everyone. former food pantry manager here.

it’s almost thanksgiving which is the highest point in the year for need AND new volunteer influx.

you want to help and that’s great.

if you can DONATE MONEY. ask if they need volunteers or dry goods (some take fresh/refrigerated/frozen too!)
I pet sit in people’s homes and almost everyone has a Dyson now and they are so, so terrible. I bought a used “featherweight“ Bissell stick vacuum for $10 off Fb Marketplace and it’s been great. They retail for as low as $30 new (if corded, more if not; but I kept losing the charger for my previou)

I did not expect this post to resonate with so many people, but it makes sense considering how many people have been laid off or are going through layoffs rn. Gen X and Millennials were also taught to prioritize work and our careers, only to see homes become too expensive to buy and wages stagnate.
Being laid off feels especially hard when I remember how many times I put my job first before my own health, well-being, and family. When I worked weeknights until 11pm and on weekends to hit production quotas, during PTO, and filed three stories the day before it happened. There's a lot of grief.
