Went to a prayer service tonight at St. Mary of the Lake, where they have cardboard cutouts throughout the church representing parishioners afraid to come to Mass because of ICE.

When you read some of the instructions on reproducibility they seem to say that you should always set the seed. But actually if your goal is for people to be able to reproduce your published results exactly, then you just need to do it for the results you publish.

You even have to be careful about that since there has to be a certain amount of entropy to make it actually random. Once had to deal with a security issue that only happened close to start up when the sources of randomness were too clean.
