Not that I’m aware of! A good chunk of the jump after it hit the goal was from Crowd Supply buying some to sell after the campaign. But I dunno, a lot of people just started backing once it reached the goal.
There’s only one week left in the Game Bub Crowd Supply campaign! www.crowdsupply.com/second-bedro...

Thank you to all the backers who got us to **146%** of our funding goal so far. And if you haven’t backed yet, this is your last chance to get the campaign exclusive ~ transparent purple ~ shell!

New video! The Game Bub is a promising new open-source FPGA handheld, focused on GBA but with the potential for additional systems. Here are my initial impressions of this prototype: youtu.be/78HPoapbPVw

A new FPGA console is entering the arena…but it’s actually a handheld! The Game Bub! youtu.be/VQoFJf9Yrgc?...
The plan is injection molding! Not 3D printed.
The Game Bub Crowd Supply campaign is live! And it's been redesigned with a new horizontal design.

You can now back the campaign to get your very own pre-assembled Game Bub!

preprint is out for the first project of my phd! we investigated how structure prediction models work for protein-peptide complexes, where the peptide often doesn’t have a deep MSA / there’s no good paired MSA 🧵 (1/5)

Come see me talk about Game Bub (www.crowdsupply.com/second-bedro...), my open-source FPGA retro-emulation handheld, next month at @crowdsupply.bsky.social's #Teardown2025 in Portland!

Interesting! I did not, thanks for letting me know! Selling the PCB by itself is… pretty much useless? Not sure who they’re expecting to buy this.
I don’t have the price finalized yet. I think Crowd Supply will be able to charge the tariffs as a separate line item, so approximately 10% more (or 20% more, or any other number based on whatever is in effect).
Just loaded Goodboy Galaxy (32MB, the largest size— most games are 8 or 16 MB) and it took 4 seconds.

And I don’t have a CRT to test with, but the dock should work with an adapter!
I’m not personally planning to write more cores at the moment, but everything is fully open-source, and user-added cores are supported. The XC7A100T FPGA is quite powerful, I think it’s likely than any of those could be supported. Cartridge adapters probably not based on pin count / size.
Hey!

The current plan is to manufacture in the EU, and ship from the US. Based on my understanding of tariff laws, EU customers would not pay any tariffs (as they’re based on the country of origin).
There’s been a lot of interest in Game Bub, so I’m going to be launching a crowdfunding campaign through @crowdsupply.bsky.social!

Sign up for updates and to hear when the campaign goes live: www.crowdsupply.com/second-bedro...

This will be an assembled product, not just a kit!

There isn’t yet, but this is definitely something I’m interested in doing. I agree, it makes a difference for sure.
