normally i wouldnt talk about new Megas yet but that one in particular just really got to me with how ive seen a lot of really negative reactions on it and seen a lot of people call it "lazy" when i think theres tons of context lost in translation

is it comedic for a Pokemon thats been mostly depicted as relatively serious? yes but i think thats the point and it ends up doubling down on its initial reference and honestly feels very appropriately Gen 1 and i think thats neat

i think Mega Starmie goes over a lot of peoples heads with its reference due to it mostly being a Japanese thing

Staryus Japanese name roughly translates to "Starfish Man" and can even be interpreted as "Human Hand Man", also Starmie is close to an Ultraman reference

fyi she actively spoke against people buying a Switch 2 and then proceeded to do it anyway and when called out for it said that she "needed" it as a content creator and thats not an issue cause she can write it off as a business expense
