If you are a journalist or streamer or something here's a download link for this video so you can write a story about Christmas tree fire safety and upload this video to your website and put an ad over it and keep everyone employed: spaces.hightail.com/receive/Zewk...

It's clearly a distraction from the signing of the 1000 Cuts Bill & the total defunding of NPR / PBS.
It will all either:
-vanish because one small bit of it will turn out to be faked.
-be true & just go away like always.
- affect Trump but not matter cause the SC said laws don't apply to him.

Pointless story time:
(I lived in the US for 10 years. I've been home for 9)
I was yesterday years old when I learned that "homecoming" is the first at-home football game of the season.
I was today years old when I discovered "homecoming" means alumni returning to visit (including a football game).

I'm trying to look something up that's reasonably easily searched for...if the AI in the damn search engine wasn't "helping me" with actively wrong information.
It also just contradicted itself!
I hope we've all kept our encyclopaedias and schoolbooks, we're going to need them....

It is absolutely outrageous for people in the US legally to be treated as criminals.
I realised yesterday, for the first time, that for these students who were rounded up & deported their "crime" could be as minor as:
1)being F1 visa students
2)having minor run-ins with traffic violations.

I have looked up what a 'put'...or possibly a 'puts'...is.
So, ok, right. Ready?
It's the opposite of a call.

Great to see such unanimity s/

I didnt believe this when I heard it. But when you look it up...
"Parameter values for ε and φ were selected."
ε, was set at 4.
φ, is 0.25.

It's 1. That whole part of the calculation is...1

Makes you wonder who IS currently sitting on some important information for their next book, doesn't it?
I appreciate that Jeffrey Goldberg did not sit on this news for a book that he writes two years from now

Our government is trying to work out how to deal with the toddler-in-chief & JD Wormtongue next week and not have him decide to nuke us because of, like, a wrong pocket handkerchief on our guy...
All I can think is its probably going to end up being the shortest US Irish-American month ever.

🇺🇦Good morning dear friends. President Zelenskyy is not just a leader, he’s an example of courage, resilience, and dedication. Through every challenge, he stands strong for Ukraine and its people. A president who leads with heart and determination. We are happy to have you Zelenskyy.

Yesterday's appalling ambush of Zelenskyy by Trump and Vance - absolutely shocking behaviour and treatment of another world leader, and yet Trump's comment said it all ... 'this is going to be great television' ...

A sovereign leader is the equal of another. It doesn't matter how big or small the country. Personally I am glad that the leader of Ukraine stood up for the rights of his country & fellow citizens.
It was clear from the beginning this was all to set up Ukraine's leader and try to make him look weak

Look. If the instructions say "shake well before use" there's a reason for that. Really. And "well" is important here too.
If it also says "do not refrigerate" there's a reason for that.
Don't refrigerate the damn thing!
Srsly.

(1/X) The media spent ten years ignoring Trump's obvious personality disorder. We were told "he's a pragmatist, a businessman".

Now they are doing the same thing with Elon Musk....

I've had a smartphone (Android) since about 2011.
I have JUST discovered how to stop there from being so many screens to flick between.
First time ever I have the 12 or so aps I use all on one page!
So proud!

This is almost funny.
It's too close to being true though.
Interestingly, when you click through it doesn't seem to match any actual article title.

That is the freakiest visual I have seen so far. It's like when some random country is preparing for a coup and everyone starts appearing in uniform.
Wait till the right-wing news companies start having the "talent" dress like that to read the day's news...
Kristi Noem is on set with Laura Ingraham in full Border Patrol gear but also with her makeup on fleek. Completely ridiculous.

This is bloody stupid.
Releasing water to do a job it can't do and isn't needed for.
Potentially killing people and resulting in floods.
Risking drought in the dry season
So that /he/ can tweet a picture about it (once)?

Acting on Trump's order, federal officials opened up two California dams
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers just opened up two California dams. A spokesperson says the flows are 'controlled' and being coordinated with local officials.

Personally I don't think that "Strump" and (particularly) "Smelania" were very carefully workshopped names.
Never mind any of the rest of it. 🤷‍♀️
