I’m actually really close to wrapping up 2 large scale personal paintings! I’m really excited because it’s been years since I finished new paintings for my project. They’re also both done in oil!

Aside from this I really recommend cloud services. I’ve got google drive set up to automatically upload everything from my drive, even when I just save when working. Only downside is that you need a good internet connection for it.
Unsolicited artist advice of the day: if you're a freelancer with no back up devices or storage, remember to pick a few things up in the black Friday sales. Even a pen drive to back up your projects so if you have a catastrophic hard drive failure you wont lose everything..learn from my mistakes. 😅

I did some design practice recently. These two are Louhi and Väinämöinen from the Finnish epic, Kalevala. I tried to design them as if they were going to be added to MTG (psst, WOTC, get me to do Kalevala secret lair??) which was a really fun challenge.

As someone who started drawing/painting at 16 and had to fight for every inch of my skill I wholeheartedly agree to a point. I do think that some people like Sargent or Frazetta were naturally gifted the same way ppl are gifted in math etc. Their level is unreachable by just training alone. Howeve..
