Mamdani offers real solutions for mental health
Our mental health system is running on fumes. For too long, it has been underfunded and shaped by politics rather than evidence. As chairs of the Senate and Assembly Committees on Mental Health, we…

The RPL essentially said that If council orders us to use our reserves to fund ongoing expenses then they will just have to make bigger mill rate increase requests down the road.

It's essentially short-sighted decision making centered around this year's mill-rate rather than sustainable planning
Radons: That's what reserves are for. You have to figure out what your minimums & maximums are b/c that's what we're doing. You have to take this back to your board & have a deep conversation about what you're going to come back w/ #yqrcc

Hey gang. There's an executive committee meeting starting at 9am. A bunch of partner org budgets will be considered today including the library budget which is asking for an additional 3.5% mill rate increase. I do not anticipate this going well. I will live tweet from @pdcityhall.bsky.social #yqrcc

The answer to "is Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal?" is "yes, but he's also a genocider," and this should not be controversial.

I am very concerned that this was one of the results of Regina's Housing Accelerator changes. Certainly, we've made it so the highest density is by-right near transit corridors. Makes some sense but it really means it's relegated to Regina's drag-racing routes. #yqrcc /1
I'm really interested to know exactly how "corridor urbanism", which is another name for focusing housing growth on our widest, loudest, and dirtiest arterial streets so other areas don't have to change, got literally baked into Washington's statewide transportation plan.

Nobel Peace Prize went to obama, the bomber, and kissinger, the butcher. That’s all you need to know about the credibility of this western award. María Corina Machado is a staunch zionist who begged netanyahu to intervene in Venezuela, and promises to hand over the country's oil to US corporations.

Striking Canada Post workers will move to rotating strikes as of tomorrow — but they’re still fighting the uphill battle for both Canada Post and their labour rights.

For @parismarx.com, the Carney government continuing to chip away at this essential service is the last straw:

Say what you will about past Liberal and Conservative governments, they were ideologically driven. Carney just snuck in last minute and is like “Actually I’m ransacking the public coffers to fund the military, AI, energy companies and pay CEO friends obscene salaries. Thanks!”

You know how local media is getting decimated as disinformation floods in?

Well, my friends at @nationalobserver.com have created an incredibly cool new tool for keeping an eye on local politics.

They are not planning "a violent crackdown" on 10.18. What they are doing is sending a signal to their shock troops to try to cause havoc. But those shock troops will be vastly outnumbered. Go out and protest freely. Do not be cowed.

Carney, Smith's "Pipeline for Lower Oil Emissions" Deal Doesn't Work

Janetta McKenzie, @Pembina Institute, modelled 3 scenarios, several that included a new pipeline to the West Coast.

Oil sands emissions rise in every one.
