Rainforests regulate water cycles, supply food & medicine, and stabilize our climate by absorbing carbon 🌳

But they can also be our undoing, if we keep chopping them down. With every tree that falls, carbon gets released, making a natural climate stabilizer a climate problem.

Forests Can Be Assets or Liabilities. It's Up to Us
The world's forests are premium assets. They generate priceless benefits -- from capturing carbon and generating rain to supplying food, medicine, wood and countless other products. But neglected forests can quickly turn into liabilities.

A new record - on 5 December wind power produced enough electricity for 3/4 of UK homes

At 23.8GW it meant that even during winter peak demand, it was still providing nearly half the country's power needs

Still a way to go though....

25 years ago, offshore wind was still a risky, unproven idea.

Now, the UK leads the world in harnessing clean power from our coasts. 🧵
