Forests are vital for life on Earth, yet banks and agribusiness keep profiting from their destruction.

Last year, 8 million hectares vanished, half the size of England.

At #COP30 in the Amazon, leaders must act to end deforestation and make polluters pay.

“New Zealand has signalled to the world’s biggest meat and dairy producers that it’s fine to ignore methane – the largest human-made driver of warming.”

Other major meat and dairy exporters could now follow, sparking a race to the bottom for climate action.

New Zealand has just become the first country in the world to weaken the climate action targets that it had set in law. They’ve done this to allow the intensive livestock industry to pollute the climate even more without having to pay for the damage they’re doing to the planet.⁣

Even butterflies are losing their colours as forests are replaced by monocultures.

Without protection for native habitats, the most vibrant species could vanish.

It is not too late. In forests allowed to recover, colour and life return.

Earlier this week, Turkey’s Constitutional Court reviewed the “super permit” law, passed in July, which opens olive groves, forests, pastures and water sources to mining and energy companies.

A massive threat to nature and people’s future.
