I haven't read Preacher yet, but Hitman and Punisher (specifically MAX) does offer actual points and messages like for example Slavers which touches on sex trafficking in a very real way that Ennis handles seriously that it surprised me, as I had earlier only ever read The Boys (was a mistake)

I just need something on the level of Wolfman and Priest's runs, I need a writer who understands that both Slade's a horrible person, and yet there's a contradictory side of good to him that he repeatedly denies because he believes he's only good for killing and hurting others
