Views are my own. Reposts are not endorsements etc. Nothing I say is investment advice. Dundee as in Scotland.
@luketryl.bsky.social Hi
Can't speak for other nations, but your MRP for Scotland looks odd. Like you, not a prediction, just as a nowcast,
Southern uplands: Tory not SNP
Posh rural Aberdeenshire, esp west: Tory not Reform
Generally: too much Labour, too much Reform, not enough SNP, not enough Tory

Just for you info, Reece: it's not @TheGreenParty here, that's the other place.
I mention I’ve joined @TheGreenParty and suddenly everyone’s got an opinion on them and my decision. 😄
Thankfully I neither owe anyone an answer nor have to explain myself. 🙂
You do your thing… and I’ll do mine. 👍
Simple.

Agree/ Disagree, @jameskellysgp.bsky.social analysis re. next UK Labour leader:
1) Re. Streeting & Burnham - agree.
2) Re. Miliband - disagree: his policies are driving up cost of energy in UK for both industry & residential usage, destroying jobs & making fuel poverty far worse. A Labour Liability.
Rayner is OUT as Deputy PM - but nature abhors a vacuum, and it's likely that an alternative soft left champion would emerge in any early leadership election
Angela Rayner has just resigned as Deputy Prime Minister, although I can't see from the initial reporting whether she has also resigned as D...

🤔 Compare below with:
1) "new Scottish poll from More In Common ... seats projection from the poll is pretty extraordinary, showing the SNP on 61 seats", @jameskellysgp.bsky.social, who explains why 61 to majority MSPs is v.unlikely.
2) Others quoting same poll: SNP 63.
??
NB: X handles on Bsky 🙄
The SNP now projected to win an outright majority in next year’s Holyrood election. Labour collapse as hard line unionists migrate to Reform. Tories reduced to a rump.

Trouble is, Nate is right.

Bsky enjoyed a very brief period window when it looked like politics debate here was going mainstream. The Irish elections last November offered a Bluesky plurality of contesting voices. But as discussions got more & more navel-gazing the breadth of topics & ppl shrunk.

Well done to Shabana Mahmood, richly deserved promotion
And a few from
the cabinet meeting in Downing Street yesterday. Yes, surprisingly, there are other members if the cabinet apart from Ms Rayner. 😉 A few shots of the ladies first:

42% go for either Very Likely or Unlikely.
43% as above, but only Fairly 1 or the other.

I think it's very uncertain. 2026 looks the big test year to me, with Scots & Welsh parly elections. If he can survive to 1st Jan 2027 as Lab Leader then my guess (& only that) is he's their Leader @ next GE.
While Keir Starmer yesterday insisted he will definitely lead Labour into the next election, most Britons see this as unlikely

Likely: 32%
Unlikely: 53%

Life for Palestinians in Gaza has gotten worse under Trump, not better. So where are Jill Stein and Cornel West now?

They aren’t leading protests in DC outside the White House, no rallies. Almost like the whole 2024 thing was just performative.

Magadan: famous for the Gulag victims-commemorating Mask of Sorrow statue overlooking the town.
A week ago Putin visited Magadan in eastern Russia.

Soon after disaster visited the region - I'm not sure if the two are connected😜

They even lost more fuel when a tanker was left hanging off a bridge, which collapsed in the floods.

Crest of a soccer/ football team new to me this evening: Hibernians FC Paola #Malta. Hibernia = Latin name for #Ireland & #Hibernian is a Scottish (Edinburgh-based) football team. Plus, Dundee Hibernian is now Dundee United FC. Only the Maltese version features a lovely peacock, it must be said 😀
