What an enlightening and positive article by Arthur Hobhouse at Gartcharron Farm Argyll in latest @ReforestingScot magazine leading the way on #progressive land ownership acknowledging past wrongs and seeking reparations.
Great to host author Rebecca Smith #Rural and her brother Tom @greensmithcarving to our nursery yesterday to talk trees, developing a #community tree nursery, #forestry #rewilding and lots more. Thanks for the #cakes!
Another day another celebration! This time the 1st anniversary of the Renfrewshire Climate Action Hub @rencan1.bsky.social They have been great support connecting us with new groups to help in our #treeplanting #climateaction
Fantastic to be part of the end of project celebration #Coalfieldcommunitieslandscapepartnership yesterday in #Cumnock. Our #CoalfieldstoWildwoods project has planted 13000 native trees with 900 volunteers thanks to #HLF funding. Great music too! @TheCumnockTryst
Here is a nice wee film by one of our partners Lucy from the Renfrewshire Climate Action Hub

A pleasure and a privilege working tonight with the Renfrewshire Young Carers who are embarking on their #DoEaward. They planted wildflowers and trees at Locher Wood #communitywoodland in the drizzle @rencan1.bsky.social
Delicate work in the nursery today processing all the seed we've been collecting recently. Rowan, Goldenrod, Hemp Agrimony and Guelder Rose to name a few species. #Volunteering
We went over to explore the beautiful verdant #temperaterainforest in South of island and collect some seeds. Sessile acorns and Aspen suckers amongst other species.
Memorable day visiting uninhabited Inchmarnock #KylesofBute thanks to #cowalcruises. Lots of wildlife to see en route!
Capitalising on the #mastyear managed to collect a good load of Sessile Oak from one of the only populations I know in West Central Scotland. It did meaning hanging of a cliff #Portencross in the driving rain but #happyasachildinasweetshop
Lucky with the weather this morning to plant another 400 trees in the beautiful grounds @HurletCremation to mark every service held over last few months. #ClimateCrisis
Rare species such as #Aspen which thrive in a dynamic landscape will benefit. Cultivating thd ground also creates seed beds facilitating natural regeneration.
Of course Wild boar can be destructive but the disturbance they create can be very beneficial ecologically as with beavers. We need more of this in our landscape is.gd/9fmK8M
Amazing effort by #volunteers from @ramh_scotland coordinated by @rencan1.bsky.social planting 250 #Aspen trees @Comraich lots of positive feedback reinforcing the #mentalhealth benefits of tree planting. Haste ye back!
Exciting to hear about the recording of the Olive Moth at Brodiclea Woodland #swseic #woollypigcompany #futureforestcompany. Only 5 previous records for #Ayrshire. Its food plant is #Aspen and other poplars. Our Aspen planting in the region will hopefully lead to its expansion.
Current floral highlights in our nursery are Devil's Bit Scabious, Common Toadflax and Marsh Skullcap. The Scabious was literally vibrating with bees as well as butterflies. #biodiversity @yearnstane.bsky.social Big thanks to the efforts of our #volunteers working in such heat!
Great effort by the young people from the @tannahillcentre.bsky.social youthgroup #Paisley who planted more than 100 #Aspens #comraich #animalsanctuary in baking conditions. Fortunately the Ayrshire soil was still sodden 😀 #scottishsummer. #volunteering
Aspen pricking out time. First time have handled so many seedlings with seed sourced from #Forestart. Hopefully our #volunteers have not gone cross-eyed!
We planted Honeysuckle, Red Campion, Ground Ivy, Wild Strawberry, all grown in our nursery and some Holly, Hazel, Hawthorn and Bird Cherry.
Lovely to be back at Locherwood Community Woodland despite #midgies with some #Locherwoodies to do more ground flora and understory planting for our Rewilding WoodlandsProject @MossyEarth #communityownership
Chuffed to see my first Scottish Primrose. What a wee beauty. Machair by Durness Golf course.
