It is a dark fantasy and horror comic (with a tiny slice of sci-fi) about a pacifistic warrior and his journey to find the truth about his family. He is an influential politician and schemer who appears to be allied with the main protagonist. Shortly after, a small white phoenix emerges from the brooch, and Sheng Feng reaches desperately for her. The phoenix grabs onto the back of Sheng Feng's collar, breaking her fall. They turn to face a large Chinese-style house, which has ominous wisps of smoke emanating from it.
