As the backlash to generative AI in video games continues to pick up steam heading into 2026, it'll be fascinating to see what is considered "made with generative AI." Can a dev team say they're not using AI if they're writing design docs with Copilot or using chatGPT to make schedules and budgets?

Got myself deep in a Banjo Tooie run and this game feels like coming home. I love the interconnected world, the way things slowly ramp up in complexity. Jiggies are hard won. Grunty Industries is the game’s Water Temple moment: a 5-floor industrial hell dungeon full of toxic piss and shit. Sublime

When you get to the open world in Prime 4, you are told via radio to go tackle the levels in any order. Only all of the levels are gated by upgrades in typical Metroid fashion. Eventually you get another radio call saying hey just go to the volcano, here’s the map marker. WHY
