My friend told me that her 14 year old son started doing laundry on Sundays for some of his elderly neighbors. He doesn't charge for the labor. And now he is the most popular person in the building and has non stop pies, cookies, and cake. The 14 year old should be our model of modern masculinity.

Carney: But this decades-long process of an ever-closer economic relationship with the United States is now over. And as a consequence, many of our former strengths as a country—more particularly, our economic strengths based on close ties to America—have now become our vulnerabilities…
This time of year is so beautiful. A veritable color palette amongst the trees. When the real rain comes, all the leaves go with it.

Cooper and I were treated to a symphony of juvenile coyotes on our walk. Cooper noticed them first and stopped dead in his tracks to listen.

Look, folks, he's the *Speaker* of the House, not the Listener of the House or the Watcher of the House.

You can't expect him to be aware of major events that are unfolding right before him.
I can’t wait for the day when I can deactivate my LinkedIn account. I keep it for work reasons but I’d be happy to never see humblebrag/empty platitudes again.
My deepest condolences. I'm glad Trixie had such a loving family and life, and you will have a wealth of memories.
Btw had to fill up my tank today. Went to Costco because they’re always reliably cheaper. $3.94 a gallon. I realize it could be worse but that’s not “bringing costs down.”

Somewhere in the United States someone who invested their life savings into an inflatable frog costume business to the dismay of everyone that knew them is having the best week of their life and handing I Told You Sos to those who doubted them.
In honor of participating in today’s #NoKings protest, I’m firing up Star Wars: A New Hope.
RIP to a style legend. Too soon.
There’s so much beauty and love if you take the time to acknowledge and savor it. We don’t have to be angry all the time.

Sending positive vibes from Portland, OR.
Life seemed so much simpler back then. And it was. No cell phones. No ginormous TVs with hundreds of channels. No internet. We’re so distracted as a society that we often forget what real happiness is. So I hope you take a moment, any moment, to stop and reflect.
It’s been awhile since I’ve had honest-to-God cream and sugar in my coffee. I’ll do this occasionally when eating breakfast out. I had a wave of nostalgia wash over me this morning as I would prepare coffee this way with my dad. Can still see his favorite ceramic coffee mug in my mind.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

The Democratic Party needs to get younger, feistier, smarter at messaging and more in touch with the electorate, both at the state and federal levels.

Democratic voters need to get more discerning about who they choose to fight against the rising tide of oligarchic fascism.

Can we just fast-forward to our version of the Nuremberg Trials?

The thing that bothers me so much is not the “we have to enforce our borders and laws.” We do.

It’s the giddy joy and celebration they have at the misery of people far less fortunate.

Republicans don’t need a single democratic vote to fund their regime. Here’s why. Please share widely.
