My unskilled ass won 3 out of 3 games of Chutes and Ladders, “a game that takes no skill, you know”, against my very competitive wife

Ah, yes, 1. The adorable age where he’s just the right height to grab me by the balls when he wants something. Up first. Potential siblings second.

Apologies to my first book, LETTING IN AIR AND LIGHT, for forgetting its 2nd birthday -- two days ago.
(In my defense, I have a lot going on.)

Last night in a dream I explained to someone about the nail polish my daughter's friend custom-made for my book's birth, this prompting my memory...
Copy of my book from BELLE POINT PRESS with two empty blue nail polish bottles above it. They're from FAMILIAR POLISH. Yay for indies!

Book cover for The Walls Are Closing In On Us by Joshua Trent Brown. Features a winding snake over a river. Blurb by Austin Ross, author of Gloria Patri: “a book that examines not only the soul of a man but—perhaps—the soul of a nation."

It’s a Fall Friday, my dudes. Grateful to be walking through the October Country.

Friendly reminder I’ve got two books that are still good. Haven’t rotted out yet, still very much in season

A fair number of problems seem downstream from the fact that the best way to be a human is to grow, change, and evolve but the best way to be successful online is to never change and always double, triple, and quadruple down every time you are wrong.

okay i’m not saying i’ve learned everything at my middle age but i do think that maybe the key to happiness is having food, water, shelter, some degree of financial stability, good friends, and the wherewithal to slow down and feel time

extreme busyness is a plague

Always wild to me that in the year 2000, Robert Zemeckis made a Brian De Palma film while Brian De Palma made a Robert Zemeckis movie.

Day 6: Dark Water
Small watercolor painting depicting a gloomy seascape at night. A small sailboat lies on the water in the light of the full moon. The sea is calm. But in the deep, dark black-green water beneath the boat, a black kraken tentacle with white suction cups writhes.

Really feels like a great time for a new Verhoeven banger if he's got one left film to give.
