#Dementia isn’t just #AlzheimersDisease. Most brains show a mix of issues: Blood vessel damage, toxic proteins and Lewy bodies all play a role. Read more, including what APS member Costantino Iadecola thinks, in The New York Times: https://ow.ly/yUBv50XAJb7 #ISpyPhysiology 🧪

In a dangerous and divided world, Canada and Europe are elevating our defence partnership.

That means more access to new equipment for our Armed Forces, more investment in Canada, and massive opportunities for Canadian workers and businesses.

“Our findings show that when we see someone being touched, our brains quickly interpret what that touch might feel like. This fits with the idea that the brain briefly "mirrors" what it sees in others, simulating their experience as if it were our own.”

From childhood to old age, the human brain doesn’t just slowly fade or steadily grow, it changes in stages. The brain goes through four major turning points that shape how we think, learn and connect. Those shifts happen around the ages of 9, 32, 66 and 83. #RSNA25

I got invited to a US conference hosted in Florida. I was very clear that the reason I would not attend was Donald Trump and his economic war on Canada. My personal and business travel budget will be spent elsewhere and mostly in Canada.
🚨 Several US conferences that bring together scientists have seen their attendance levels drop this year as a result of the Trump administration's war on DEI, following the anti-science blueprint of Project 2025.
