Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I don't think we understand just how bad the decline of the Internet is to knowledge.

3 years ago, I could perform a very basic search in any engine and get an absurd number of relevant links, research articles, etc.

Today, I can perform the same search and find absolutely nothing.

I have a rant about the overengineered 'best in the world' British plug with fuse needing to be that because ring mains in houses were so poor; copper was scarce after WW2, overloading the ring was easy. These days, circuit separation splits the (over)loading.
