There is no reason to follow me. Seriously, think about the children.

I really haven't been persuasive about this. You shouldn't follow me. It can't go well for you.
Of the two DSA guys, one is a stereotype of a White hippie teacher and the other is a stereotype of a White hard-charging Mark IV Cis Dude™. Those facts amuse me.
But I doubt they have much disagreement with the other progressive candidates in any of these races and not to be all pollyanna about 1/

2. It is two. TWO DSA candidates won in their respective wards in Jersey City. I may have said one earlier. But it is two.

Ever mindful of the visuals, he gathers a giant group of old white people to surround him and support him while he spews his vile racist rants.
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

He's right about that though. The New York Times, CNN, WaPo, all the big networks will absolutely LOVE to have a war. Their profits go way up when Americans are stressed and panicked. Chaos bring revenue.
Trump on his boat strikes: "We're gonna start very soon on land, and I'm sure you're thrilled to hear that."

I am amused by this Foucault quote.

Attacking pre-school teachers because they don’t think Palestinian kids should be bombed to death? Declaring NYC’s first Muslim mayor “our enemy?” Fomenting hatred, even within the Jewish community?

You’re not making anyone safer.🧵

AFAICT the progressives, and sometimes the self-avowed DSA candidates, won all the special elections in Jersey City.

JC's local elections are "non-partisan" which, considering that Republicans have 0 electoral chances, seems to make sense.

But I think none of the old guard won this time.

Over the last 2 days one of the autodocs has been force-feeding me these nanobot milkshakes. The first thing the nanobots alter in your system is your craving for nanobot milkshakes but I have to admit I even liked the first one. And my IQ is up to almost 80 now! I no longer ideate blowing airlocks.

I feel like one of those religious zealots who insists on the mass being conducted in Latin as I'm complaining about the Eminence Front mix with Pete's voice dead-center rather than fully panned.

Looks like the DSA guy in Ward D pretty handily won against a previous mayor's daughter in Jersey City. I'm in Ward C so I hadn't really paid much attention to D. Boy, there were a LOT of runoff elections this year.
It's time for ranked choice elections.

They called it!

So yeah. Jersey, and SPECIFICALLY Jersey City has been the epicenter of old-school Democratic strong-arm party-boss rule. So it's kinda a big deal.
Another progressive candidate defeats an ethically challenged former politician who feels entitled to power
Breaking News: James Solomon has defeated the former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey in Jersey City’s mayoral race.

Do we get to count Jersey City's special election today like we do with the Mamdani/Cuomo race? Well, probably not.
But yes. Right now the progressive is winning. So let's keep going. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
