Physicist, writer, liberal, husband and father. Pretty good cook.
I called the office of my even more piece of crap senator, Dave McCormick and spent the time berating his staff person and asking him how he could possibly justify working for a fascist enabler and a murderer. He said it’s not about him, but I kinda feel it is.

It’s my kid’s birthday and for their party last weekend, we decided to make several of their favorite cake, pound cake and used the opportunity to do a head to head of the Joy of Cooking and America’s Test Kitchen. Both delicious, but ATC wins, hands down.

You’re welcome.

Holy fuck.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

There have been at least 154 cases in which federal district courts have issued preliminary relief against a Trump administration policy.

Those rulings have come from 121 *different* judges appointed by seven presidents (including 15 appointed by Trump) sitting in 29 district courts in 10 circuits:
193. The "War" on Judges
Deputy Attorney General Blanche's attack on lower courts is an impressive combination of light on substance; shamelessly hypocritical; and profoundly dangerous. More people should be condemning it.

Just a quick reminder that this is what the media used to consider a major scandal, even though even then it was utter horseshit.

(Note the meeting took place when neither Clinton held any office and the investigation itself was manufactured garbage. Also, this article is from almost a year later)

The normie response to today's emails *should* be, "Wait. You mean that these *aren't* the Epstein files that he's been trying to suppress?"

No. I think they're all in on fascism and know that they can't do it with a lame duck who will attack them relentlessly.

What a bunch of fucking morons.

Silly question. If the House has to convene to vote on the bill doesn’t Johnson have to swear in Rep. Grijalva?

every time you think the new WaPo editorial board can't embarrass itself any more, they manage to find a way.

Left: 'Texas gerrymandering is no big deal!', from August.
Right: 'Maryland gerrymandering is an affront to Western civilization!', from today.

Dem gains in this week's elections erased the inroads Trump made with non-white, young, and low-income voters in 2024. In fact, the R-to-D shift from 24 to 25 is double Trump's gains from 20-24. Claims of a GOP political realignment have been highly exaggerated

Sidenote: The pollsters have all been cowed by Trump into overestimating republicans and underestimating dems. Every single pollster who reported from the last 2 weeks (31 polls!) in VA AG, Gov and NJ Gov underestimated the margin or picked the wrong winner.

Holy shit.
Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.

Early, and it really depends on which towns have reported, but so far, it looks like the Trump conciliating republican sheriff of Bucks County, PA (my ancestral home) is getting the boot.
