Universities are in crisis, and I don’t think it’s helpful to phrase that as “exiting the market”. They’re not mid-range shoe shops, these are educational pillars in society
Chief exec of OfS 'said the OfS believes there are 24 institutions at risk of exiting the market in the next 12 months, seven of which are large providers with more than 3,000 students. There are another 25 or so institutions of various sizes at risk over a two- to three-year period, she added.'
Seven ‘large providers’ at risk of going under in the next year
Skills minister says no higher education institutions are at imminent risk of collapse this year but OfS confirms more than 20 providers are being closely monitored

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

Zohran Mamdani proves you can win against incumbents and racists with a powerful message of redistribution and equality for all regardless of race. Moreover that you can stand up to the Israel lobby and win, even in America. This is a turning point.

Social media can be a cesspool, but it can also bring the most wonderful people in to your life. Katy was just lovely, so kind when I had my babies, so supportive of my campaigning, always ready to lift others no matter how down she was.
It is with a broken heart that I have to share the devastating news that my amazing wife Katy has lost her battle with cancer and passed away.

If she touched your life in some small way, please consider donating to Dog’s Trust, using the link below.

While this is illuminating a change in political trends, it’s still a long way to go before we know what these shifts mean and whether they are sustainable. But in any case, if you’re Labour and you’re not considering what’s wrong, something is very amiss.

Really want to encourage libraries - especially school libraries - to put no-AI content into your collection development policy. At the very least, if you have a clause in there about requiring accurate information, you can use that to weed out or prevent genAI purchases.
“When you get a suspicious book, “you look it up to see what else the [author] has written. And you see there's 30 things, and none of them have any reviews, and they were all written in the last two years,” DeMeester-Lane says.”
How Local Librarians Keep AI Slop Off the Shelves
AI is being used to create nonsensical, sometimes dangerously inaccurate books. Local librarians are tasked with keeping these volumes out of their collections.

As an incurable surfer of RightMove, one of my little obsessions is photographs of houses where a pet has wandered into the shot to get in on the action. This tousled behemoth of a cat is a notable favourite.

I've got about ten of these left (all with free bookmarks and postcards) in case anyone would like to grab one...
I have just a small pile of first edition hardbacks here which I can sell signed to anyone (in the UK) who emails me at [email protected] in time.

All of you will also receive one of these handmade bookmarks made by my mum, Jo.

The painting of Union Jack or Irish flags on paving in Northern Ireland is done as a form of intimidation & ‘ownership’. Recently, British Loyalist paramilitaries have painted Union flags outside homes of ethnic minorities to intimidate them & scare them to leave. Starmer is playing with fire
Asked about people vandalising roundabouts with painted St Georges and Union Jack flags, Keir Starmer replies that "I always sit in front of a union jack and I've been doing it for years"

“I’m very encouraging of flags”

I was looking for a card sorting tool, that lets users add their own card (in case we missed some content, this is to test specific enterprise content), so, I launched a Google search.
