Stop burning fossil fuels.
Upon reading what’s come out of COP30 I have questions:
1. Why do we let politicians decide how bad climate change is and not scientists?
2. Nope that’s it. That’s my only question.
November 23, 2025 at 9:01 PM
The Washington Post (paywalled) call it a fizzle out. More accurate IMO. But what will the headline be on our news? Do people think just because politicians can’t agree that there isn’t a problem?
November 23, 2025 at 5:23 PM
This feels like the middle of a scary sci-fi movie when scientists are warning politicians that they need to lead the world to pivot or we are all going to burn but not enough are listening and one small group who caused the disaster are telling everyone not to pivot.

This govt has no respect for science. Climate Change is happening now and what does this govt do? Double down on fossil fuels.
Stop. Burning. Fossil. Fuels.
The Govt says it rejected the Climate Change Commission's advice a month ago, but the commission says it hasn't heard anything from the Govt.
Confusion reigns as climate minister appears unaware of own announcement

We need a government that is pro stuff not anti stuff. One that builds and not destroys. Build renewables. Protect our health and our education. Has policies backed by science. Please.

This has to be a one term government for everyone’s sake.
The UN’s latest climate change conference kicked off in Brazil this month. VUW climate change lecturer Dr Cathrine Dyer argues New Zealand’s delegation will be there “beneath a cloud of scepticism about the government’s seriousness in addressing carbon emissions”.
COP30: climate law changes mean NZ could retreat from its international obligations
Proposed changes to New Zealand’s landmark climate law amount to a “soft renege” on the Paris Agreement, with potentially significant consequences for the economy.

What the actual %*#*. This is appalling. I don’t understand how this govt can be so blinkered to reality. This ‘new’ curriculum is a massive step backwards for learning and a kick in the teeth to all families with disabled students.

Oh geez. So embarrassing that this has happened again. This government needs to be a one term train wreck.

This is a problem. A huge problem. We really don’t want to be importing the worst cars. The pollution alone will reduce health outcomes.
November 17, 2025 at 7:52 PM
With all the news around COP30 and updates on climate change I’m finding it hard to bear that today, in the town I live, is a celebration of all that is cars and driving. It’s dressed up as fundraising. But still, no one there cares. I’ve attended and spoken to people before. 😞

Wow. This is bad. Like not all your molecules expanding at once bad, but it’s right up there. Stop burning fossil fuels.

What?
“Retirement village mulls banning electric cars, bikes - even wheelchairs.”

I think some people have gotten a bit caught by anti-EV propaganda. What’s next banning cell phones and pacemakers because they have batteries. Good grief.

Climate change and its impact on peoples health. Crazy how mitigating CC directly improves people health. Less pollution, and less carcinogens. Heat is going to be our greatest threat and not just to people.
Do everything you can to make changes in your own life. Then spread it.

It’s just a shift to the right. A hot shift that reduces time you can work outside and adds to the number of extreme hot days and increases storm strength and ocean acidification and and and.
Stop using fossil fuels.
