Now that I got the artist's full green light, he is the full art for my character Cym, the playful and level headed female supporting good guy character for my weird unfinished Sci-Fi Fantasy novel 'A curse of optical haptics'. 🥹🥹🥹

Sighhhh the only apple product I have is an Ipad and I mainly use it for drawing. Heard great things about Vellum though!

#tbbchat Q4: If your story has robots, do they employ The Laws?

My haptics book doesn't use Asimov's laws in that way. They only guard the family headmaster. Two keep their charge alive and can maim or kill attackers without remorse. The third sequesters the headmaster.

TBB Chat Q4: If your story has robots (or you can make a robot AU), do they employ The Laws or nah?

Quote post and include the tag #TBBChat so others can find you.

No links or covers. Save the self-promo for the outro.

I tried hundreds of 'troubleshoot' solutions in English and Spanish editions of the software. Workarounds, tested 50 different templates. Nothing worked. Only maximum page by agonizing page misery of 1 by 1 retyping manually the headers up to 5 times. Sometimes 10 times for cery persistent pages.
drafoxter.bsky.social
What about the headers? If I even stare at the screen, the header and footers vanish or turn into rubbish incoherent numbers. Editing out typos is an agony because I have to first repaste the entire text into a virgin template and manually divide sections page by page. And hope headers don't erase.

Ooh what is a Taylor ham? Pardon my ignorance, I once saw NJ from the Philadelphia side and have never set foot there. 😅😅😅

#tbbchat Q1: does your story have any robots in it?

There's two robots in my unfinished Haptics wip that become Leenx's occasional helicopter parent shadows. A third hidden bot also lurks. One of Leenx's alien allies travels in a robot with an attractive male human hologram.

Mmm... the only thing I could think of is tears & misery. Or maybe coal cuse according to the Zoolander movie, there are coal rural mines and everyone has Zoolander hair there. And I am certain that must be legit cuse the movie looks super realistic. 😛

Since I have never tried Scrivener, I can't compare. Libre is very easy to use. There are however a few annoying things but not complete turnoffs. The only thing I haven't tested yet is formatting a paperback which Word does quite terribly. I hope this software makes the experience better.
drafoxter.bsky.social
Ughhh!!!! It must be so frustrating!!!
drafoxter.bsky.social
And now that I enjoy the perks of Libreoffice which includes more highlight colors than Word, I think the only way I'd reactivate a subscription is for me video feature for Powerpoint and even then I have alternative software that could do a decent job.
drafoxter.bsky.social
Oh, I know! I turned it off the few months I still had the active subscription. It's just the mere idea a company would increase an already expensive annual subscription 30% without even warning longtime paying customers an unwanted product they don't need spurred me to cancel ASAP.

Fans of science fiction fantasy and straight up sci-fi with twisted societies, reluctant alliances, and flawed characters, may I entice you with my weird writing?

All three of my published books: Sigils of Malice, Sigils of Blight, and The Sarcophagus of Lamia

Sigils of Malice's book cover has a magical, horned blue beetle with red eyes sprinkling glittering dust on magical technology lit by a blue gem.

Sigils of Blight's book cover is of a six-sided lantern lit with a ghostly flame, in the jungle, in front of burning ruins.

The Saprophagous of Lamia's cover is of an ethereal blonde woman's resting face, laying back upon red velvet. She has a silver implant in her hair. In front of her is a round, gothic window with gold filigree. Leaves, faces and fish are in the filigree's design.

The background image is a yellowed photo of a gothic church, courtesy of Aleslanger on Pixabay.

Maybe there is kryptonite skin cancer? Would seem logical since it seems to exude some kind of solar like radiation that affects his alien kind and not Earthian humans.

I discovered much to my horror there is only 1 opportunity for old accounts to continue with classic. If you cancel without renewal, that option vanishes forever. They might entice you a discount... with the copilot bloatware. It's like Microsoft eagerly wants to support Libreoffice.
drafoxter.bsky.social
What if you downloaded libreoffice? While the software is a bit barebacks and finnicky, it had most of the things I need without the subscription and bloatware. If you sell the idea we don't know how much scraping is going on, the appeal might grow on clients.

As my way of thanking the indie writing community for supporting me through the years, I'm offering free content/quote pulls for my birthday! Preference for BIPOC or disabled authors + SFF books on the shorter side. Turnaround will be 3 weeks - I have a baby so I can't be as fast as I used to alas 😅

Awww that kitty has such soft fur!!! Gorgeous!

Ooh, you should do a thread sometime comparing both versions!

Did anyone ever see the redub? I have seen some episodes of the butchered DIC dub and hated it immensely. The series is practically unwatchable in English to me. Heard Knights of the Zodiac also has a hideous butcher dub and a 2nd redub nobody cares about.

The outer senshi kept their original Japanese names and there is 1 scene in episode 196 where Uranus hints to Neptune they would discuss it further when they are in bed when facing Galaxia. They did however mini censor sapphic dialogue between them in the 4th or 5th Stars episode in the cliff scene.
drafoxter.bsky.social
I think for contract reasons, the first 65 episodes were subleased from the US and used the American names but it was otherwise dubbed over the uncut Japanese version. Zoisite was referred to as a woman and Fish Eye was hinted by dialogue to be trans female by everyone except Tiger's Eye.
drafoxter.bsky.social
I am surprised it got dubbed in the first place. It was dubbed to Latam Spanish only a few months after the series premiered un Japan with as much lack of censorship as a gendered language could muster. I think Brazil dubbed it real quick as well uncut. Spain I think never dubbed episode 200.
