Raising an autistic child is complicated and at times difficult, or nearly impossible.

Please understand the issue has little to do with autism, but other people; gatekeepers, medics, LA officers, teachers..

How you practically deal with them I discuss in my “Practical Guide on Autism”.

One of the overlooked aspects of sharing a journey with autism is loneliness.

“Society” often rejects anything that is perceived as different or disabled.

Parents loose fair weather friends & autistic people struggle to make or keep friends.

I’ve had a busy few weeks with life, travel & grant deadlines, but I’m really pleased that a letter I wrote has been published.

In it, I recommend that autism researchers talk about midlife and old age as separate life stages, not conflating the two.

A new BMJ analysis examined the body of Tylenol-autism research—40 studies total. Most didn't properly account for genetics, family environment, or why mom needed pain relief in the first place.

But the studies that DID—by comparing siblings—found NO LINK.

Yep, lots of “specials”

Special unemployment.
Special discussions with the reaper.
Special social exclusion.

Why does autism prevalence matter ?

Officially prevalence is 1/100. It has this value for almost ever. When you ask the NHS or LA how many autistic people there are you will probably be quoted 1/100.

Do you know the answer yet?

How can autistic adults thrive in life?

This should be at the heart of autism researchers, not what causes autism.

But instead.. 2025.. and I still keep seeing all the same things that's labeled as negative or a barrier from these researchers, that is disappointing to say the least.

Come on now.

Polygenic and developmental profiles of autism differ by age at diagnosis - Nature
A study of several longitudinal birth cohorts and cross-sectional cohorts finds only moderate overlap in genetic variants between autism that is diagnosed earlier and that diagnosed later, so they may represent aetiologically different conditions.

How do the police know your autistic loved one is autistic?

A response of they should know is not the answer. Many officers will have zero experience of autism & most people don’t know their rights.

Most forces offer an autism awareness card.
