In the 1930s a party openly blamed disabled people, chronically ill & mentally ill people for taking money away from working families.

The consequences are remembered in a Denkmal in Berlin.

All main parties have NOT learnt that lesson.

Remember who wore badges!

How do the police know your autistic loved one is autistic?

A response of they should know is not the answer. Many officers will have zero experience of autism & most people don’t know their rights.

Most forces offer an autism awareness card.

Someone has said that autism should be split into two categories:

1. Autistic - for the non disabled autistic people

2. Autism - for the disabled autistic people

IMO it appears the self 🆔 (not self diagnosed) don’t wish to be lumped with autistic people.

As an unpaid carer I realised the greatest threat to my loved one was ignorance.

Ignorance of need
Ignorance of autism
Ignorance of invisible conditions
Ignorance of assumptions
Ignorance of stereotypes

Glorified & wilful ignorance by politicians & professionals.

Society. “You don’t look autistic”

L1, “it’s invisible”

Society, “You trying to be funny?”

L1, “Nope, but your ignorance is visible”

Society, “What?”

Society. “You don’t look autistic”

L1, “it’s invisible”

Society, “You are a faker”

L1, “Yes, my impersonation of a neurotypical is poor”

Society, “What?”

Folks,

Please understand the significance of this. @ClaireCNWL is a rare person- someone who cares about MH.

Thank you for your service.

I now dread the future.

If you listen to the #LipService from services when someone dies you realise nothing changes.

Always:

“Lessons will be learnt”

“They should have reached out”

“It’s just autism”

Until the reaper touches your soul you may never care!

Listen!

When you share a journey with #autism you become painfully aware of suicide & the collateral damage.

Many of the people you talk to are aware of the reaper’s shadow & how little care or support there is.

Every day is a prevention day.

When you support or care for an #autistic person you quickly learn that local & central government gatekeepers lie, cheat & make sh!t up.

You need to learn how to get around the bar stewards. To help you I wrote an illustrated guide.

Learn because they won’t tell you.

Ignorance is bliss many say, but it also easily manipulated.

Take autism as an example.

We are told there are too many diagnoses, too many fakers, it’s an excuse, anxiety is not debilitating..

Consequences are hostility, stigma, no services & death.💀

This leads to T4.

People say #autistic people are rigid in their likes etc.

No, it is your ignorant perception of autistic people.

The NT perceived rigidity is actually a highly developed ability to say #NO.

An ability honed to reduce overwhelm & avoid harm.

Dear self appointed language police,

Whilst I may appreciate your self identified version of autism, I don’t appreciate your constant talking over autistic people, unpaid carers, & many others who share a quarry with autism.

Please “stay in your lane” as one of said to me.

Autism is a complex, nuanced, subtle & brutal.

Sometimes everything all at once. So how do you even begin to understand the meaning of a stim, an attitude, a shutdown ..

Before you do, you need to begin with yourself & your own mindset.

Understand & change you!
August 17, 2025 at 4:20 AM
Where do you begin when your loved one is diagnosed with autism?

1. Understand their triggers
2. Understand their bundles
3. Understand masking, axelithema, echolia, stimming..
4. Know their rights
5. Change your mindset to Viking
6. Love them - they’ve not changed

Occasionally you can make a small difference to someone’s journey with autism.

I just realised autism is composed of 3 elements

Gold - because it is valuable
Titanium - because it a strong
Samarium - because it’s a magnetic catalyst

Au - Ti - Sm

Some people claim autism & ADHD didn’t exist when they were in school.

In other news NASA only discovered the moon is not made of cheese in 1969.

What?

Disabled people often wake up in chronic pain. Pain doesn’t have to be physical pain.

It can be despair, grief & not wanting to exist. Just as painful & probably more deadly.

Many people often don’t believe there is pain, but if you listen you can hear it in their voice.

Every unpaid carer’s journey is different.

My journey is life long.

I plan constantly for the best and prepare for the worst.

I struggle with my own existence from the endless & mindless indifference, intolerance my loved one faces

Every day a little of me disappears.

They want disabled people to work so logically:

They don’t enforce the Equality Act

They cut access to work

They wish to cut PIP

So tell me again - how are disabled people supposed to work?
