If Farage has charisma I am miss world! wtf! 🤬 am I the only one who is not impressed by the slimy snake??? I get repulsion.

It won’t happen until he is gone. The level of coercion and stubbornness of this person is unbelievable for a so called left-wing leader and not beneficial to anyone but he doesn’t care.

Usual first class communication from Labour then.
Why can't it convey a simple message, that doesn't need subsequent clarification, as a result of furore over an initial announcement? 🙄

I could be required to pass a test when I have a PhD thesis written in English because the immigration officer might say she doesn’t know what a PhD is 😂

The real reason is that UK is unable (read no resources as we know) to verify whether the meat or cheese is coming from a supermarket or from your own production. Because the same saucisson and Camembert you can import for personal use is actually imported in UK and sold in supermarkets.

Name a protest movement, anywhere or at any time, that has achieved its goals without being annoying and obstructive.
People like this enjoy the freedoms our political ancestors gained for them, while attacking the means by which they were achieved.
jackdawg52.bsky.social
Nope, you make protest obstructive and annoying you lose the good will of the general population.
When they ring their local member to complain - they dont tell the local member to deal with the issues raised by the protesters, they tell them to deal with the protesters.

She is just plain stupid at this point. Better she joins Reform.

But at least you can bring a sandwich on your trip. I received an email from Eurostar saying we cannot still import any sausages and cheese so sandwiches are not allowed. But i can buy a sandwich at 5-7 pounds on the Eurostar! It seems to me its like the liquid rule, bonkers!

If Labour doesn't intend to adhere to its human rights obligations anyway, there's little point in us being signatories to the ECHR. Better, more honest, for Mahmood to join Reform in campaigning to leave it.

Ceasefire according to Israel

You ‘cease’ I ‘fire’

Thanks to @franceskalbs.bsky.social for keeping the struggle of Palestine alive when the rest of the ‘western’ world celebrates its ‘peace’ deal (which is not).

I think most foreigners who learned English as a second language with lots of grammar involved (thanks to our Latin and Greek studies and background) will do better than any native speaker!

In the meantime Israel handed over more than 20 deceased Palestinians but nothing in the news. Palestinian lives do not matter.

During an EU Commission press briefing, a journalist questioned the double standards of European policy, asking whether Israel should also be held accountable for rebuilding Gaza — just as the EU demands Russia
The question was met with silence, as the EU spokesperson declined to comment.

The Spectator (owned by GBNews owner Paul Marshall - estimated wealth of £800 million) doesn’t like taxing wealth fairly.

I wonder how they got to this editorial decision?

Let’s tax wealth fairly, fund front line services & make hope normal again.

Polanski is talking nonsense about wealth taxes.

Just had to check. To become a teacher in England and Wales, you only need English to be at GCSE grade C (4) level. (Plus GCSE Maths.) So a lower standard of English than migrants. Ridiculous.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements for a postgraduate teacher training course usually include a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
You also need the following GCSEs at grade 4
(C) or above, or equivalent qualifications:
• English
• maths
• science (if you want to teach primary)
If you're not sure which route into teaching is right for you, find routes into teaching based on your circumstances.

Maybe they just meant “a level standard” and the A is accidental.
