Trump bragged about grappling women by the pu**y & barging into rooms of partially dressed, young pageant contestants. A jury concluded he assaulted E. Jean Carroll in a dressing room. So nothing that’s in the Epstein emails is a surprise. It’s just confirmation.

Precisely. As a world “leader” the U.S. is done for decades.

In a White House meeting with civil rights leaders in early 2021, President Biden recounted his first trip to Europe. Biden he announced to them, “America’s back!” The European leaders said “yeah, but for how long?”

They were skeptical.
There's arguably no effective way for any future administration to undo the strategic damage being done to the U.S.'s relations with these and other states.

No matter what we do, the U.S. will be seen as an untrustworthy, craven & mercurial "partner"—something simply to be endured or hedged.

Who ever could have guessed that an administration full of failed reality show contestants, loser tv hosts, podcasters, wanna be models, grifters, conmen, and sh*tposters couldn't run a nation?

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

I really need folks to stop acting like Trump's goons are somehow emotionless terminators. They are super insecure bullies who desperately want to seem strong and powerful and popular and it kills them inside when they're not. Like Trump.

"I'm from the government and I'm here to help," is actually a pretty good slogan and aspiration for a political party.
I suspect a huge part of the reason Republicans are taking the heat for the shutdown is that ending federal programs across the board *just is* the GOP brand. Dems are the party of a government here to help you, & Republicans aren't, so of course as federal programs fail, everyone knows who to blame
With Trump and his cronies using the shutdown as cover to shut off the food stamp program, food banks will soon be flooded with demand from the 42 million Americans--including 16 million kids--who rely on the program. Which means the rest of us will need to step up and give whatever we can.

👏👏👏
Even if shutting off food stamps will disproportionately affect Red states, there are plenty of Blue-voting people in those states who will be affected, too. And telling them, "You have to suffer because we want to punish your neighbors" is a great way to keep them from voting Blue again.

Some folks were worried that they'd sic thugs on the protestors or declare martial law. Instead they posted AI videos and complained.

These people have no juice. Their supporters are cowards. They are are all bark and no bite. They collapse when we push back. Remember that.

Democrats should never vote to fund a government that's waging war on its own citizens and firing officials *because* they insist on following court orders instead of breaking the law. Let Senate Republicans nuke the filibuster. None of this is normal and it shouldn't be treated as such.

If the Vice President stops saying Nazi things I’ll stop calling him a Nazi and refer to him as a former Nazi. It’s that simple.

“The import of this history has never been clearer than in this moment when the hard question must be asked: If you would look away from the words of Charlie Kirk, from what else would you look away?”
Ta-Nehasi Coates is doing a lot of things with this essay, but one of the most important is fearlessly using examples of anti-trans hate to describe Charlie Kirk's politics.

The contrast between his choices and those of other writers for major legacy outlets is revealing.
Charlie Kirk, Redeemed: A Political Class Finds Its Lost Cause
By ignoring the rhetoric and actions of the Turning Point USA founder, pundits and politicians are sanitizing his legacy.
