YES! Like, this is the stuff that Manfred took away from us.

(and yes this happened in the WS! Imagine someone using this tactic Vlad Jr. or Ohtani instead of the automatic IBB!)

Only 4 pitchers have recorded a Pitcher’s Cycle — striking out every batter in the opposing lineup — in the World Series:

Trey Yesavage, 2025 G5
Randy Johnson, 2001 G2
Bob Gibson, 1968 G1
Jesse Barnes, 1921 G6
Trey Yesavage struck out all 9 Dodgers at least once tonight, a feat that Herm Krabbenhoft dubbed a “pitcher’s cycle”

New Episode!

The 1906 featured a surprise contender and a solidified juggernaut- sound familiar? Ed’s looked into the 1906 World Series and the White Sox team no one expected to have a chance.

Frank Isbell’s 4 XBH record would not be broken until Monday night!

Makes me wanna crash through the window
He is an overlooked Hall of Very Good player, his OBP was wild but also his SB% eliminated some of those gains lol
2001 Diamondbacks or 2016 Cubs

Imaginary: 1994 Expos!
Alright, let's see if I phrase this the right way.

Which World Series victory in your lifetime – NOT featuring your favorite team – brought you the most joy?

(For me I think it's 2019 Nationals with 2016 Cubs close behind.)

Great advice not just for tonight, or a game which happens after an unexpectedly long game the night before, but for ALL sporting events, concerts, and just times out in public.

The people working may be getting paid to be there, but they're still people. Treat them with the kindness they deserve.
Y’all if you’re going to the game tomorrow, be extra nice to stadium workers, the vast majority of whom stood the entire time.

The 4 extra base hits in a World Series Game club.

1906. 2025.

Let the record show that Frank Isbell made 17 career pitching appearances.
We're gonna talk a little bit about Frank and his World Series record this Wednesday's episode.

Isbell had a performance for the ages after taking a tongue lashing from his manager Fielder Jones.

Another rally killing homer by Kirk.
Blue Jays have done a lot to kill the "home run is a rally killer" silly trope.

Vladdy's GS? Next 2 batters, single, home run.
Gimenez gm 3 HR? 5 of next 7 reach and they score 3 more.
Gimenez gm 4 HR? 4 of next 5 reach and they score a run.
Addison's GS? Next 3 batters, single, out, home run.
We recorded last night and talked about one of these performances!

It’s out Wednesday but I’ll give a hint, it was one of these 3 ending with 6 and we nicknamed one of the players in the series (not one listed) Popcorn Shirtpants!

Another wild, lesser known baseball story out on Wednesday!
Most consecutive combined batters retired in World Series game:

1939 G1: 24 - Paul Derringer, Red Ruffing
1956 G5: 23 - Larsen, Maglie
1906 G1: 23 - Nick Altrock, Mordecai Brown
2025 G2: 21 - Yamamoto, Gausman
1926 G2: 21 - Grover Alexander, Urban Shocker

They must resurrect Charles Finley!
Completely fix baseball with five words.
Is this easier in Fenway Park or harder?
you should be able to steal a home run if you want to. just drop the bat and try to book it for the fence before anyone can tag you. if you can make it all the way out there and throw yourself over the fence, you're good
Ya they beat Seattle so bad at home in game 1 and 2! Remember that. Remember when that happened?

The nine runs Toronto scored in the sixth inning are the most in a single inning of a World Series game since Detroit put up a 10-spot in Game 6 in 1968, according to @ESPNInsights.
I concur, also to no one in particular.

Springer, Gausman, Bassitt, Scherzer, Hoffman, Kirk, Vladdy, Gimenez and even Straw are not moves a small market team makes. Add those together and you’re talking almost a billion dollars in contracts signed or taken on.
Blue Jays are a top 5 payroll who have spent over $1 Billion dollars in contracts to create this team but go on….
Our team is in the World Series for the first time in 32 years!

We are thrilled but with that happening, we weren’t able to finish researching our next topic and will have to push our regular episode release back a week.

It’s October, so expect some wild Post-Season Baseball History……Next week!
From heartbreak in Game 5 to nothing but joy in Game 7!

BLUE JAYS PENNANT BABY!

*I guess we didn’t text during Game 6
Maybe North American sports, The Curse of Colonel Sanders was very real!
