What's Toy Story?
Maybe don't burn anything until we know how flammable this place is.
That door there looks like a good place to start.
Kinda dusty sign . . .

( she makes a sound that could be a chuckle. )

( she takes it, spinning the lanyard around her finger. )

turning several hundred pages so that he loses his place when he wakes up.
Has fallen asleep sitting up, still holding the book he was reading.

I think I understand. What do you think happened here?
Hey, look at this. I think this, uh.... ( He thinks about sci-fi movie terminology: ) Cryo-Pod might have something in it.

yes, same premise, very good. rushed expeditions can be useful too, but what we have here was built to last, to survive. people would have to live & die here. children born & raised.
we'll come across bodies soon. that'll be very informative.

( Joel is picking up scraps of technology that's way beyond him. Even if this stuff was common on Earth in 2011 - which it probably wasn't - he totally flunked science class. And sociology. And, well, most of his classes. He's not sure about that idea. )
What about, like, rushed expeditions?

kind of!
'cause your first outlook posts are still so infantile, but to get that far you have to put absolutely everything you have into it. there's no secrets you can keep. one could, in theory, dissect a species' entire technological tree just by analyzing the components of this place.
