Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.

In all of the cluster fuck that was the 2024 election - my big take away having worked every election cycle since 1998 — Democrats refuse to hire trans people as experts on communicating about trans issues and will keep loosing. There is JUST as much exclusion in the Dem party as anywhere.

In both August and September I worked extremely hard to roll back Joe Manchin supported hateful anti-trans riders in the NDAA - I was honored to work with nearly a dozen orgs, almost 20 families, and hundreds of service members to share our stories with Senate and House Staff. It was powerful!
