(1) He's just sucking up because he knows Dear Leader likes to be flattered. (2) The scary thing is how many Trump supporters actually believe stuff like that.
And the worst of it is that he's been saying this stuff for years. He was chosen _because_ he's a racist, not in spite of it.
It's all that sand you ate at the beach when you were a baby.
I try to make them in the morning, but not too early, so I can get it over with and then the rest of the day I don't have to be like Damocles.
The symbolism of Trump having machines tear apart the White House feels almost too on the nose. #WhiteHouse
Some things work a little; magnesium glycinate seems to help, melatonin before bed, the best single thing seems to be a solid workout, which at least keeps me in decent shape. When it's hopeless I watch documentaries. Either I sleep, or I learn something, either one counts as a bit of win.
According to my mother, I've been an insomniac since birth. Apparently I was a challenging infant.
If you let the system treat any humans as subhuman, it will treat all humans as subhuman.
I sometimes think how weird it is that 200 years from now everybody will have been replaced with new people, and will the school I teach at really be the same school then?
_Becoming Superman_ by @straczynski.bsky.social An autobiography which is by turns frightening, infuriating, sad, and inspiring. Reminds me of Mark Twain: 'Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.' 100% worth the read.
_Citizen Kane_ includes a reminiscence about seeing someone: 'A white dress she had on. She was carrying a white parasol. I only saw her for one second. She didn't see me at all, but I'll bet a month hasn't gone by since that I haven't thought of that girl.'

Who or what is that for you?
Who else had 'hiding your neighbors from the secret police' on their Project 2025 Dictatorship Bingo Card?
Put a new motor in the washing machine so we can do laundry. It's running right now!
'Displaced' sure is a weird way to spell 'kidnapped.'
What I don't get about the GOP protecting Trump is that I can't imagine their voters will care. He locked kids in cages. ICE is putting zip ties on children right now. They knew he was an adjudicated rapist and supported him anyway. Why would they care if he raped kids too?
Today has been a perfect day. I rate it 10/10.
'I gassed up your car.'
No idea where this came from, but yeah, considered from this perspective, autism causes all kinds of good things for everybody.
Does anyone actually believe that anything Trump has done actually _solves_ any real problems?

I don't get how people can be satisfied with 'accomplishments' that aren't really solutions and won't achieve anything in the end.
And sure, Trump's anti-trans, apparently the safest minority group to pick on right now. All the trans people got kicked out of the military, as if that's some great achievement. Does anyone think trans people are going to cease to exist? /3
Okay, so he's anti-gay and his anti-gay supporters are happy about the culture-war garbage that he's done. Do any of them truly believe that gay people are just going to cease to exist? That they won't keep fighting to have their rights respected? /2
Something that occurred to me watching Jimmy Kimmel's monologue from last night was that none of Trump's 'achievements' are going to last any better than him crowing about getting #Kimmel off the air.
