At least Marinakis is committed to cheering #dcfcfans up...
I'm seething. Have been able to draw some positives from some of the performances up until now, but the scales just fell from my eyes, because that was a relegation performance. We are in trouble here.
No response or improvement from #dcfc in the second half. A 1-0 scoreline was deeply flattering.

Ten games in and no cohesion. On the evidence of performances and underlying stats, Derby are going to be in another relegation fight, which given Clowes' investment in summer, is a huge disappointment.
The only positive from that shambolic first half from #dcfc is that Oxford didn't kill the game, which they absolutely should have done. Eustace needs to take the opportunity to get out of jail by making changes.

If it was me, Agyemang and Elder would be on at half-time, at the bare minimum.
That first half was pitiful. Oxford should be out of sight already

It still doesn't quite feel real, but I've now published *four* books about #dcfc! These are my telling of the Rams' history from 2010 - 2024.

A lot happened in those 14 years.

I'm not planning another one for a while, but who knows...

My latest post - available to all members - includes analysis of how all the strikers who joined Championship clubs this summer have got on so far, and where #dcfc's Patrick Agyemang fits in with the wider trends.

The situation at F*rest is so farcical that I found myself thinking "maybe this is a 3D chess move to get the fans to panic and rally around Ange..."

Marinakis is just the latest Fawaz al-Hasawi / Mel Morris type of egomaniacal owner who simply can't stop himself from meddling.

“In the schoolyard, I’ve picked fights with people I knew would beat me up. That’s the kind of person I am.” - I mean, this fits with his management style, I just don't get why he thinks this is a *good* thing.
Ange Postecoglou says he is ready for a fight at Nottingham Forest — but does expect to hold discussions with owner Evangelos Marinakis about the future.

Postecoglou notched up a seventh game without a win as his side suffered a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

There's been a lot of debate about this in our group chat. Obviously we love Ebou, but Travis is Eustace's guy. And when you watch Ozoh play... 🙏 he stays fit, because his gravy is so different. He has to start.

So assuming JE sticks with the 4-2-3-1 (or 3-4-3), Trav-zoh is going to be Plan A.
It could have gone either way, and given that they're a parachute payment club, it's a positive result. More importantly than that, it was a performance with some attacking teeth, and we really needed to see that after the disappointments of Preston and Charlton. Good time for an international break
Hopefully, you feel a bit better after Southampton, Tom?
I love this photo. Southampton's Ryan Manning is too busy bitching to the linesman about the throw-in decision to realise that #dcfc are getting on with the game.

A few seconds later, the ball is in their net 🤌
Frantic game today, with both keepers forced to work hard. It could have gone either way, so a good point for #dcfc, but more importantly than that, it was easily the most encouraging performance of the season. Still plenty of maddening moments, but honours even against a very strong technical side.
I'll be there tomorrow. Make no mistake, it's going to be a really tough game. Lose (or even draw), and #dcfc could go into the international break in the bottom three.

I still believe the new players will turn out to be an improvement on those who left, but we really need a performance to prove it
A long read from me on #dcfc's scrambled draw against Charlton, and the view ahead of the visit of Southampton - on paper, a much stronger side than the Addicks (or Derby)

David Ozoh coming on at half-time certainly made a difference, but he's not the finished article, and picking him means dropping Ebou, who is unrivalled as a ball-winner, if limited on the ball. That is just one of many selection decisions Eustace has to grapple with before Saturday. Good luck, John
There were concerns in every department. Rickety performances from both full backs, zero chemistry between the midfielders and the front four. Creativity was shockingly scarce. Only Morris and Matt Clarke look like proper players at the minute. The rest of them were all over the place.
Another dog of a performance from #dcfc, so the point is very welcome. But that was just so disappointing. Most players were miles below what I believe they're capable of. The equaliser was a huge relief, but even then, Charlton could easily have scored again. We couldn't have complained if they had

The Lewis O'Brien tackle was vile. It was one of two things, a) recklessly out of control, or b) deliberate violent conduct.

Either way, it's a blatant red card, and the referee has absolutely no excuse for not giving it. What part of it didn't he see?

He bottled it.
