I have a 1939 Penguin 'Selected Short Stories by Saki'. When I found it in a second hand book store, I clutched it to my chest like someone was going to snatch it away on my way to pay.

I have been canning food since I was 19. I'm 70. I use a water bath canner for some things, and a pressure canner for some things. You do have to be careful. I always add some vinegar to my tomatoes, because 'modern' tomatoes have lower acidity.
