Yay for pistachios! Yay for "Raul"!
"Raul" share this photo from where they are pruning pistachios trees in the Huron CA, area. "This job is very tiring because we have to cut away thick, dry pieces of the trees. I work eight hours a day and paid CA minimum wage." #WeFeedYou

“Swim your way to a shore of rectitude”
I will add the following: our students lack the research skills required to audit an LLM essay for errors. They don’t arrive on campus with these skills; we teach it to them over four long years. So throwing freshmen in the deep end and saying “swim your way to a shore of rectitude” is folly.

Reverse what now? Taylorism is inextricably linked with capitalism.

Full Stop.

Watch.
“Capitalism forces you to wake up at 7am against your body’s natural rhythms” no that’s Taylorism and if you don’t like living in a society that coordinates effort to ensure a better outcome for all then I don’t think you’ll love the alternatives

An Old Soviet Joke:

Man buys a newspaper, every day. Looks briefly at the front page, then throws it away.

The vendor finally asks: why do you look at the front cover but never inside?

I'm looking for an obituary.

Vendor: But the obituaries aren't even on the front page!

This one will be.
The only thing i'm more anxious for than Christmas is Donald Trump's obituary‼️🤣

Oh what an international P🎊Rty that will be‼️

Democracy dies....something something
So Bezos is in them too then?
The Washington Post editorial board decided the Epstein files have “no public interest” before even seeing them. That’s a stunning position for any newsroom to take. Praising Clay Higgins as the lone ‘no’ vote, too? No wonder no one trusts legacy media. Absolutely disgusting.

Covering Jamal Khashoggi's murder was one of the most disturbing things I've worked on. Hearing Trump say he was "extremely controversial" and people "didn't like him" is chilling. Hard to take any other way than he thinks there is moral ambiguity in the murder of a journalist.

Almost everyone with a high level of racial resentment tended to vote for Trump in the 2024 election, regardless of educational attainment. Conversely, those with a low racial resentment score tended to support Harris, whether they had a college degree or not.

The @aaup.org and UC faculty associations, unions etc representing huge numbers of UC employees brought this suit.

The UC itself maintains its mysterious strategy of standing very, very still & quiet.
