Aussie. Dev at Microsoft working on Razor and a bit of Roslyn (C# and VB). Just generally a big fan of syntax trees I guess. I like Lego. He/him. 🇦🇺
Just had a flash of memory, like dreaming of something from a past life, that I started writing a blog post a few weeks ago. I’m really bad at/hate blogging.

I don't know what Sage Mode means, and I wish this had a "PRs merged" stat, but still, I'm pretty happy with this. Feels representative enough.

And for the record, easily 90+% of those commits were deliberately made with care, and a reasonable message. Not like some people I can think of :P

.NET Lab can now display disassembled machine code. It's taken directly from JIT, hence only supported on desktop for now. #dotnet #csharp #roslyn #asm #dotnetlab

It is school holidays and I have achieved the impossible task of getting my children to willingly eat vegetables for lunch.

I am a golden god!

I've been thoroughly enjoying Fortnite again today, and also it keeps crashing after about 15 minutes of gameplay. Somehow I suspect these two things are very closely related.

Put the car in “on” without starting it the other day, to close the sunroof, so the dash lit up. 14yo saw it an said “what are all those notifications?”

Doomed, I tell you.

Say what you want about copilot, but I assigned it an issue, it looked at two images of code coloring in an IDE, and opened a PR to make changes to various regexes in a textmate grammar to fix the situation.

Worth its weight in gold, that. It can do the annoying work I don't want to do, any day.

HSP and a (non-alcoholic) beer for lunch, trivia at a brewery for dinner. And they call this working?

"My child has made charcoal!" is something I would be proud to say under normal circumstances.

Under these circumstances, where my child is home on school holidays and was simply trying to warm up a piece of cake in the microwave, it has a different emotional response.

The man who installed our roller shutters has been hard to contact, but I need him to fix something that is probably under warranty.

The good news is I just broke something that is definitely not under warranty, so now when he comes I'll definitely owe him money, so he should be contactable now!

Spotted a couple of survivors today: A Pulsar GTI-R, and an O-Bike, within about 10m of each other.

Absolutely love what the Dynamic Ad Insertion industry has done to podcast listening.

No Such Thing As A Fish is a facts podcast, so clearly I like facts podcasts, so ads should be relevant to facts podcasts, so this weeks No Such Thing As A Fish episode had 3 ads for No Such Thing As A Fish 🤦‍♂️

Spotify Wrapped offered to make me a playlist for my most played songs, but I already have a "Good songs from K-Pop Demon Hunters" playlist, that's how we got in to this position!

Feels like this might be a cancellable take these days, but I like the new BOM site much better than the old one. I'm glad they spent some money upgrading things.

Every month I get an email telling me I can access my payslip, with two PDFs attached telling me how to use the site for looking at payslips. Times that by every employee, or at least every Aussie one.

So much wasted data zooming around or being stored on the internet.

Now that he’s 11 I’ve decided my youngest needs his own LinkedIn account

….because he keeps stealing my phone and solving all of the games, and so I don’t get to (and he’s making me look bad!)

I’m addicted to linked in games and I can’t stand waiting a whole day to play another game round.

Oh cool, another email from Have I Been Pwned, except oh I dare to use a catch-all email address and therefore I a must be a big business and can't access anything on the site without a subscription.

Utterly useless.

My eldest wanted to go on a bushwalk today, so I happily took him on a bushwalk. Sadly, I have passed away as I am very old and unfit, but I'm hoping to make a full recovery by tomorrow.

Also he wanted to call it a "hike" but I refused.
