Ankh-Morpork prepares for war, which is no good if your job is keeping the peace. Vimes does what he knows, even when it takes him outside his city. We discuss the good influence this book has on us and how it is, regrettably, still very relevant right now.

For the weekend crowd, we're Halfway Through our Discworld reread, and look back on the 2nd quarter and 1st half of Discworld and what we've made of it. We also look ahead to the next 10 books. It's now been 2 years of us doing monthly episodes.
Quadrant 2: Halfway Through
In our look back over the 1st half of Discworld we fail to pick a fave, but do have a clear least fave. We talk through the subseries. We also make some additional comments about Maskerade and discuss the baddies of Discworld so far.

This one has a warm, cosy sort of feel due to the colours, but it's dispelled as you look closer. It's clear which scene in the book this is, but not at all clear which figures are the main characters. Still certainly atmospheric.
