been ages since I've made a #meettheartist so here it is! ✍️

my name is Daria Bolshikh, I'm a professional illustrator, with a degree and everything!

It is actually insane, and it somehow never clicked in my head before: you improve really fast at things when you teach them

I had to study and fix a lot of muscle anatomy, draw a gazillion of Loomis heads, fix so many greyscale boxes this last year - my uni degree can’t even compare

it’s not easy but I am glad I’m doing it instead of polishing generated art like I was offered to after graduating

just wish I had some energy leftover after a workday to actually be an artist

me, 10 years ago: “honestly I’d be happy to do any job as long as I’m drawing, hell I’d draw grass textures all day!”

me, now, getting paid to teach others and checking dozens of homeworks every day: “waaaa… not the passive skill growth and a stable pay for literally drawing and talking waaa”
