Linux guy, retro-computing and electronics enthusiast, hobbyist graphic designer and 3D artist doing bits and pieces for the revived Commodore brand. Occasional writer and musician. Also that kid with the weird eyes off of GamesMaster.
Looking to get some photo gifts made from one of those companies who have their own software that you can install on your PC... and there's a goddamn Linux version!

Installs via a Perl script, runs in user space, installs a launcher and everything. I think I might cry.

I was supposed to be at @retrocomputermuseum.co.uk in Leicester today for their Christmas gathering, but had to stay home due to the winter lurgy.

I absolutely love this event and this is the first one I've missed. Genuinely gutted. On the plus side, my wife has put the tree up and it looks fab.

Moved the contents of my USB hard drive to my NAS, then accidentally deleted some stuff. Un-deleting the entire contents of the USB drive (which was effectively empty) with TestDisk, and copying back to the NAS.

It's restored 2.5 TB of files and counting. It's only a 2 TB drive! 🤪

Sorry for the lack of updates on the BHF 64 charity fun thread. I have been flu'd up to the eyeballs.

Stuff like this makes the Internet worth all of the fake and toxic stuff that comes with it.

Ever wasted half an hour getting the same wrong answer back 10 times from ChatGPT, and wished you'd just Googled it?

Whether you're a fan of the rebooted C= brand or not, the sight of Commodore 64s coming off a production line in 2025 is nothing short of magical.

Hmm, so I save almost £140 by putting the disks in myself? All right then...

Anyone know how to safely remove an NVME device from a laptop with this weird heatsink bracket around it?

A bit of chaitable fun for the upcoming festive season... I have bought this old banger of a C64 from the British Heart Foundation. I don't need it, but it needed more bids!

My plan is to fix it up and resell it, then donate the proceeds back to the BFH, on top of what I just paid. Let's do it! 😀

Had a spare C64C case and keyboard so bought a loose, cheap (ish) short board off of eBay.

Needed a VIC, SID and a new switch, but it works great. Used one of my SIDKick Picos and wired in the second emulated SID. LED gaves it a heartbeat.

Unlike the weird black C64 Mini, this actually looks quite cool. Would have been better if they'd done the printer with the original version.

Still not for me though, as I've got a Magenta Next on the way.

Leaderboard (1986) by Bruce and Roger Carver, published by U.S. Gold. An outstanding golf game when released and still a joy to play today. The sequels and expansions added many improvements but this is where it started. #C64GameOfTheDay #Commodore64 #C64

I forgot to cancel my rolling subscription to the render farm I use. It automatically renewed for this month and charged me. Since I'm not currently using it, I politely asked them to reverse this and refund me, and they did! 😀

Credit where it's due, big shout out to render.st for being so awesome!
