🚨🚨 Some hope: media and information literacy trainings - modules providing crucial skills to better consume information - in classroom settings appears to move the needle, and to have positive externalities!

Check out the (open-access) results of our large field-experiment in India.

We use the new PtP dataset to compare cabinet members on background characteristics. Overall, politicians look pretty similar across genders. But women in the most prestigious positions conform closer to the typical politician than men, indicating that women must conform to make it to the top.

This is the way. The German car industry’s problem isn’t 2035 - it’s the demand crash happening right now.

And while we can’t stop U.S. tariffs or Chinese subsidies, we certainly can ramp up demand at home.

So happy to see this out! We caution against excessive optimism that the opposition will restore countries back to their democratic trajectories after electoral victory. Weakened institutions and the memory of repression makes it tempting to continue rather than buck the trend of autocratization.
